Mousermerf is right. I have heard many people who have budgeted their plans around "grandma who live in Florida" buying them Florida resident passes. I can tell you they do enforce this one.

Escambia is in the Panhandle. It is the first county in Florida as you're going East on I-10. In other words, it's the farthest you can be from WDW without leaving the state!!

Well, among other places, I know they have the waffles at the Pop Century food court. That's probably true for the other resorts too. As for the butter, I've never seen them but they sound cool!!

In short, if money is the driving force, go value. However, the cabins are a nice change-up to the ordinary, and are much larger than rooms. With kids, a huge consideration is that you get your own kitchen (fridge, stove, toaster) at the cabins, along with a nice dining table. Getting kids...
