No more Ice Station Cool snow?

The last dozen or so times I've been to Ice Station Cool there hasn't been any snow falling inside. This has been the case in the summer, fall, and this winter.

Anyone with any info on this know if I should ever expect to see snow fall inside again, or if this is another thing Disney is doing away with? :veryconfu

If I remember correctly the last two times I havg gone to WDW (both times in July) there was no snow inside. You'd have to admit that the snow got pretty disgusting as people walk through it and it obviously isn't very clean due to that.

I also read a report from not to long ago where the person asked a CM about the snow and they said a new machine is due in the next few weeks. I was not a huge fan of the snow but it was great to see on the way to get me my Beverly.

Well as of Summer '04, the snow was not at Ice Station Cool, so this isn't really breaking news.

And if they are getting a new machine...why is it taking this long? :veryconfu

My friend said he missed it when we went on Friday. I really do not care as long as I can get me some Watermelon soda.

I feel the same way! Wish I could by that at home. :slurp:

I have been able to buy Smart Watermelon at a downtown Chinese grocery a couple of times!! They don't always have it when I go but, when they do I pick some up fast!

My best friend is half Chinese so she helps me out with the whole language barrier!

Yeah, I agree. That's why I didn't put it in the "News" section.

Just wondering why they aren't fixing it. It's been down a while.

For those that don't miss it - messy? sure, but we didn't have to clean it.
It's just the only way I could experience snow living down in Florida.

well, i know this has been awhile but i was going to say this for the record, i know that snow machine was working in the summer of 2001 because i was walking through and a whole chunck (must have missed the grinder) went down the back of my shirt. it hit on my collar and slid down. man, i know it was summer, hot and miserable, but going from extreme heat to ice down the back of your shirt......................... im glad the children didnt hear me curse!

maybe they were to busy :hurl: on that bad flavor of coke.

I just went to EPCOT and asked the CM what happened to the snow. She said that "someone" had gotten hurt from a chunk of ice that had built up ant that they wouldn't have it anymore.

Rumor has it they are using the snow to keep the beaver tails in cold storage until they are brought back.

Why don't they just use electricity for the freezer you ask? That electricity is being used to power Wonders of Life for everyone but Guests.

(Grizz only wishes all of that was true :drevil: )

Thanks, Kevin. That's been the best explanation yet.
