  • Jackie-Yes,I know. It's no longer fair based but I can still try to tie the symbolism in.

Happy Weekend to all of you too!
Gosh... that's a bit tougher... I tend to recall reading that there was a similar argument at the time amongst scholars of the day though, so you might be able to find some good stuff in educational journals of the day, if you can get access to them. I'm not sure it's such a fair question because yes, America was dominant post WWI, but we kinda had our chair yanked from under us with the Great Depression. The fair was more about "gray skies are gonna clear up" than "we're number 1"
wdwmomof3-Thanks!I just approved the friend request!

Jackie-Project is going well.I'm almost done with the resaerch and plan on starting the writing tommorow.

The Prompt changed a bit-Did the 1939-40 World's Fair reflect the Dominance of America in post WWI/pre WWII OR was it just a exhibition of the innovation of the time and a inatainable utopian view for the future in America's 1st theme park.

Meanwhile it has to be a HISTORIOGRAPHICAL paper highlighting the thoughts of the age,not mine.

    Any thooughts?

Fun2BFree-I read some of the comics-very good. Can't wait to see more!

tDonald-Workin' on it....Hopefully Disney will do something for the 40th/30th so we don't have to.
Love your page! I had no idea you were so young. lol I have a daughter who is 15, and she thinks I'm crazy for getting on here. :)
I'm sort of at a crossroads. I've got strips backlogged until September at http://www.kernymantis.com/, but some of them are quite old and I'm thinking of rebooting and starting afresh at a new site after the strips have ran their course.
(In response to one of your posts) Yeah you should get started planning the 30th now with jedimaster1227. And while your at it, plan the 50th, please!
Happy ALMOST year anniversary on here! I just celebrated 6 years last weekend. Love it here. Thanks for contributing and I can't wait to see more. :D

Wellll..... that IS interesting. I'll see if I can dig up some suggested reading for you. :D Might wanna post your request over in the group as well... I know that at least one of the members there has done an academic paper before on the 39 & 64 Fairs and might be able to help.

EDIT: I see you did. :D
    LOL!

    Thanks to all of you!

Jackie-Interesting assigment I got today in AP U.S History

Did the 1939 World's Fair reflect the social political economic and cultral ideology of America OR did it mearly exhibit new inovations of the time and a unatainable utopian view of the future in America's 1st theme park.
