Advent Health Central Florida and Tampa General would have a word about that. Average wait time in ER is 12-13 hours ,,more areas in hospitals converted to covid wards, staff shortages because of burned out staff and elective surgeries being delayed.

Apparently you have made it loud and clear of your examples of ones being vaccinated dying from covid and you continually questioning this. I and many others are vaccinated and will keep moving on.

To be fair, the antibody infusion is a valid tool in fighting the disease. It's just rather resource-intensive, has somewhat limited benefit and not a substitute for the tried-and-true primary prevention tools like quarantines, contract-tracing, masking, social distancing, and vaccines. I just find it odd that the governor has put so much emphasis on this treatment and either ignored or didn't stress the importance of the other things.

These cases are so exceedingly rare and you know it. To use this as a line of debate would be laughable if it weren’t so irresponsible and tragic.

Virtual learning is not for everyone. Our children did just fine. Many of their friends struggled. But it should still be a component this year— used as an option when needed — and it definitely needs to be on the menu for the thousands of kids who are already missing weeks of school due to quarantine. Not having it for use in this situation is putting those kids behind and in some cases delaying the entire curriculum even for those not quarantined.

Universal masks, social distancing and vaccinations for those old enough are also important components in this. More of those three would reduce cases and quarantines and keep kids in the classroom which is ultimately what everyone wants.

Mine struggled with the way it was done. Previous if an in class assignment wasn't completed in class, she was able to bring it home as homework. With virtual it had to be turned in before the class period was over. She submitted incomplete work many times which effected her grades. I tried to explain to teachers she needed more time and I wasn't a SAHM to be there the entire day. They didn't care. What's worse is because we weren't given the time after school, it took longer to fully grasp a lesson.
If it would have been working at her pace instead, the virtual would have been great.

When anyone survives it’s a good thing. By completing and continuing to discredit science and safe vaccinations is a bad thing. When you have that many followers you need to be more truthful. All his answers to anything about the vaccines or mostly anything else is always about the person himself, not what’s good for everyone. “If your 21 and healthy you don’t need the vaccine because you most likely won’t die”. Although true it doesn’t get into anything about what it can do to others as you go on with your unvaccinated life, possibly exposing others and getting them sick and worse death.

Why are we still this anti-vax? Seriously I am dumbfounded by the turn of this events. I'm seriously sick of people acting like this is a common occurrence and still, when we are so pathetically unvaccinated not due to resources that people peddle these arguments

We were lucky to both be working from home at the request of our employers during the time our kids were virtual and our kids are both a bit older and were pretty tech savvy to begin with. Both schools also gave the kids extra time, which was great until Friday night when they were scrambling to finish assignments before the midnight deadline . A lot of families definitely struggled with it though. I don’t think mandatory online learning is a sustainable option, but at least keeping it as an option would be helpful.

The only point of my reply to that person was to show the numbers can be used on either side. You can say 1 of 500 dies or 499 of 500 survive/don't die.

Your point still relies on everyone having had the disease.

I think part of it is that nobody from "the Government" is telling them to get treated with Regeneron like they are being told to get vaccinated. Also, the ridiculous belief that the mRNA vaccines alter your DNA or have some kind of power over your genetics while Regeneron is seen as a medication.

For some ignorant people, when they see the push to get vaccinated coming from "the Government" that translates to them as meaning there is definitely an ulterior motive involved.

News flash: There is not a multi-national, multi-corporation conspiracy to cause harm to the population. If that was the goal, the more successful conspiracy would have been to NOT develop the vaccines.

As a matter of public health policy (and not politics) it does stagger the imagination. Had more time been spent this summer on vaccine drives, public awareness and encouragement of common-sense mitigation measures (instead using that time mocking mask wearing, belittling the scientific community, stressing the health care system to its limits, using schoolchildren as pawns, and cooking up ways to punish school systems and businesses for attempting to actually prevent infections from spreading) a lot of pain, suffering and uncertainty could have been avoided.

There was a big push for vaccinations but the second that the under 55 population was eligible, demand dropped off a cliff. That was even true in counties (like Orange) where there was a huge push coming from local government.
