Apparently, you must have missed walking through the parking lot....Back in the day of the drunkenness and debauchery of Pleasure Island it resembled a strip club without the stripping.

They need to bring back some form of Pleasure Island...gives the adults a kid-free zone and would take some of the pressure off of the Food and Wine, which has become a miserable experience.
It'll probably be there for 40+ years.I think the consensus has been that the sales figures have been disappointing and they always seem to have occupancy as compared to other hotels
Maybe a retheming would help. It seems to be a trend. It'll probably be there for 40+ years.
Backlot was far from a bad decision. It was fake since the mid 90sgotta add
closing alien Encounter
closing back lot
closing Mr toads wild ride
removing the MK sky way
I think they could easily convert the space into a modern arcade. Like The Rec Room up here in Canada, or a Dave and Busters type thing.
Add dining, bars, entertainment. Could be a fun space.

I'm not going to argue it works for D&B, but take my local mall in Chattanooga with a D&B as an example... The mall had a shooting this week, not that close to D&B but in the general area. If that had been in Disney Springs, it makes national headlines. Shops don't seem to pull bad crowds as much a places to just 'hang out'.Yet D&B has an age limit after a certain time and the only time they are charging is your time to pay & play, eat........And Drink..
I’m afraid to ask… are you suggesting DisneyQuest 2.0 would be original? They need something original, how about DisneyQuest 2.0 with exhibits that are better than the original?
Disney could lean heavily on the their Villains brand. I think the market would support it and it's be the perfect counterpoint to the saccrine sweet Happyland that is Magic Kingdom. The experience could be more teen/adult themed. They need to bring back some form of Pleasure Island...gives the adults a kid-free zone and would take some of the pressure off of the Food and Wine, which has become a miserable experience.
Boy...I loved it and it was my favorite park after visiting during my first trip in '89. But I wouldn't go that far. I'm glad I got to experience it though. (got to look down at the Adventures in Wonderland sets being built before I ever saw the show)But the mid 90s version was excellent and far better than the entirety of Toy Story Land. It was perfect for the park -- I'd rather have the full experience back over the combination of Galaxy's Edge and TSL.

I've been to the Toronto Rec Room!
Closing Please Island had nothing to do with any issues with violence or drunk driving or whatever. Those are stories fans made up to justify the closing because they didn’t want to accept that they were convinced they could lease out the space, mostly by Steven Schussler, right before the economy tanked.I'm not going to argue it works for D&B, but take my local mall in Chattanooga with a D&B as an example... Disney had similar problems near the end of Pleasure Island and they decided it was easier to demolish the whole thing. I just don't see Disney going out on that limb again, especially first party. Now if they could get a third party to pay that rent, a la Splitsville? Sure.
1999 NYE when DHS was MGM closing at 3am that night, multiple musical acts all around the park but Cheap Trick performing at the end of NY Street by the Backlot Tour was a great memory of an intimate concert!Backlot was far from a bad decision. It was fake since the mid 90s
BC just got our first one, in Burnaby, I still need to go! I can’t wait to walk around with drinks and game. Such a fun vibe.
