Legit question - what complaints ?

I was responding to these complaints about the coaster ride system:

Yeah, I’m old and jaded, but we traded giant, moving theaters that roamed through the age of dinosaurs for what will end up being just another coaster. Yeah, it’ll be unique for a minute, until the next coaster comes along.

My greater point that I probably didn’t make as clear as I wanted was that WDI used to design ride systems or plus existing systems to the point that no one else could or would duplicate or top. Now, with Tron and this, we get RNRC’s two ugly step-sisters.

I think the ride system sounds promising. It's new to WDW and, even if it's not 100% original, it is rare. And as the only park without a coaster, I think EPCOT is a good place for the ride system. That doesn't mean that the Guardians theme fits, or that the attraction is a good use of resources, or that the enormous gravity box is an acceptable addition to the WDW skyline. But at this point I have no complaints about the ride system itself.

The technology for the spinning is an adaption of Vekoma’s new, standard flying coaster that is offered to anyone who wants to buy.

Awesome! Gonna go buy one for my backyard. Maybe I can get mine open before WDW's!

And don't forget, viewing the ride in it's entirety.
Tower of Terror is "just a free fall" if we strip away everything else.
Expedition Everest is a runaway train.
The Guardians ride is doubtless going to have an excellent pre show, and the entire ride, pre show, ride, show elements, music - is going to make it a ton of fun.

Who was going to sponsor? Or in lieu of a sponsor, what were the merch opportunities of this better idea? Because like it or not, it seems any large attraction requires one of those two things.

Gravity building is just as big as ever…

I really hope they fix up the paint job on this building. You can still see the patch on the first rib where they tried fixing that rip from a few years ago. The second rib just has visible brush strokes all over it.

On back corner of the building you can see where they raised the roof a bit, there’s a clear seam where the new bit starts. I hope they hide that a bit better before this thing opens.

New doors they added a year or two ago, where the mirrored tiles used to be.

One of the former exits from Energy, with what I guess is an AC vent on the wall.

There were some workers up on the roof installing more of those serrated metal panels.

Weird how they're curving the new whatever they're doing up there. I knew it was in the concept art but I figured it was artistic license. I guess another example of them digging deep into old EPCOT concepts with the curved Energy building? Curious to see how it looks considering the pavilion was not designed with any sort of curvature in mind.

In fairness the originals script made no reference to dinosaurs being connected to energy. The 1996 version is another story.

Even re-using the 60's dino moulds from the World's Fair when knowledge of Dinosaurs had advanced significantly was unfortunate. (Which isn't to say the buildup, reveal, and execution of the diorama isn't one of the flat-out greatest things imagineering has ever done.)

The name for the building in which gravity takes over the coasting of the coaster. Originally applied to RnRC's building, now used generically for the big building housing a coaster.

...Stupid Judy... and, my favorite: Bill!, Bill!, Bill!, Bill! My kids and I would say those two EVERY TIME we rode the ride. So much they could have done with that pavillion that wouldn't have involved building a Sam's Warehouse next door.

Like Gringotts?

Gringotts system isn’t capable of any real thrills though if I remember correctly. It barely qualifies as a coaster. This is at least an actual full blown coaster that also supports the ride control requirements needed for show scenes without much compromise for the thrill portion of the ride.
