I don't know how to answer this. I also don't know how to care about it. "When it's time, you'll know." Maybe when there isn't a variant taking root that is likely to increase cases and deaths and possibly create a friendly environment for the next variant?
Tony I get it I’m not an idiot. I just don’t understand what you are achieving. You did your part I did mine. If his brother dies it won’t be because of us it will be because of some anti vax nut job.It's not worth the effort.
Of course I care about people like your brother. I'm seeing a lot of people not caring about anyone as long as they can do whatever they want.
Just remember that the next time, you might be part of that 30%. Everyone thinks they will make a smart decision, and this has revealed that even some very intelligent people are can be very, very, wrong. So at the end of the day, in the future (not covid, the next crisis) if you are on the wrong side, do you want your public health and community leaders to say, "To heck with you. You made your choice." Or do you want them to say, "Our responsibility is to continue to value the preservation and quality of the lives of our neighbors and constituents even if they don't recognize the value in that. I'd like to believe that if push came to shove, and people end up on the wrong side, they would say, "I wished people had kept trying, even when I was being a punk."
If we are in a public emergency I will follow the advise of experts not people on Facebook. If I die due to this decision then so be it.
Perhaps those who choose not to get vaccinated even though they are medically able should have to pay for their own treatment should they become infected with COVID.
I know it's harsh, and may seem unfair to some, but if a person is medically able, they should be vaccinated. There is no viable excuse not to be.
This is a good point. It seems that the only ones left wearing a mask are those fully vaccinated. But they don't have covid so their mask is not helping. Ok sure the very rare breakthrough cases where a fully vaccinated person tested positive. But overall the vaccinated do not need a mask anymore but they are the only ones doing it. Doesn't make sense.
I disagree. Forcing any medical procedures on people is not good.
You know we can't do that because of the slippery slope. Should we not treat those with diabetes because they are obese? Deny a long time smoker care for their COPD /oxygen because they chose to smoke?
Please re-read. I didn't say to force anyone to be vaccinated...I said those who choose not to be vaccinated even though they are medically able should have to pay for their own treatment should they become COVID positive.

I somewhat agree with you. It's also why I have no empathy when a bunch of places will be dealing with outbreaks this fall. Other then those with medical reasons who can't get the vaccine, I don't feel sorry for you. You made this bed you know have to lay in it.
Perhaps they found a benefit besides stopping covid?
