NIH officials demonstrating by doing with a company’s first successfully developed vaccine is probably better in some (many) fence-sitters’ eyes. Pfizer is a more known name, even if the vaccine approach is novel.Did you catch the head medicos let the politicians step up to the Pfizer vac while they will get Moderna today?
Hmmm, tin foil says they know something......
While it ultimately comes into a matter of weeks and not months for the two groups, I wonder how much overlap there is with partially retired elderly living in FL and working in essential retail. Shoot, a lot of CM currently working after CP are gone are up there in ageI saw that too. Elderly are far more likely to have negative outcomes. Of course essential workers are probably more likely to encounter individuals with the virus. That's a very difficult choice to make. I can see the rationale for both approachs.
I wonder if the population breakdown comes into play too. Florida has a large percentage of the population that is elderly. That's a lot of people at risk. Not sure about Texas.
Unfortunately, I see a lot of political motivations for this one. DeSantis’ strongest base is probably the elderly in the state, and prioritizing them keeps them from being adversely affected any further.
