They have been fining people here for having large gatherings and for the most part people listen. 3 homeowners were charged $2300 each for having over 20 people at their house for a Halloween party. I don't see anything wrong with doing that. As a mayor of a town near me said warning were ok back in March but by now everyone should know the rules. He is all for fining the ones who have large gatherings.
FYI, the Walt Disney Company's IPO was in 1957. Walt seemed to be very much in charge of his namesake company up until his death.
I think Halloween parties are fundamentally different in character from Thanksgiving; local law enforcement is not going to want stories about an 85-year-old granny being fined because her kids told her it was okay to have family over the way she does every year.

The subjects weren't on the medication long enough for the antidepressant effects to manifest, so probably not. As I mentioned previously, if the result is real (need bigger trials to confirm), it probably operates independently of the serotonin modulating properties of the drug.
It‘s a slippery slope on enforcement. I do think that a mandate vs a recommendation makes people more hesitant to not comply even if there is no threat of fines or real enforcement. I think a lot of people want to do what’s right but as soon as you say recommendation they view that as optional and don‘t feel like they are “breaking the rules“ doing so. A lot of this ends up in the court of public opinion. For example, a person who is planning a Thanksgiving get together with 25 people in FL could say it’s not against the rules here to do so but someone in one of the states that recently reduced their private gathering rules can no longer say that. In other words peer pressure and fear of social media backlash is probably greater than the fear of being fined by the government.

Given the huge amounts of evidence that hydroxychloroquine has no benefit, any physician still prescribing it for COVID-19 would be rightly demonized, especially given that we now have better treatment options. Plus, since the left has said COVID has been politicized, the right has to prove it’s been “both sides.” Senator Ron Johnson has picked HCQ as his both sides issue. Specifically, we should leave it up to Doctors to decide if it’s safe and effective for COVID treatment. It’s politics that says it’s not those things. Doctors who want to prescribe it for COVID are being “demonized” and threatened with the lose of their medical licenses and this is “wrong.” The FDA exemption should be re-granted and give Doctors and Patients their rights back.

Agreed. Can we put the Warp Speed debate aside for good? Here are the facts. Pfizer entered into an agreement to sell doses of the vaccine to the federal government under the Warp Speed program so for sake of discussion Warp Speed = US federal government. Pfizer did not take upfront money from the Warp Speed program for vaccine research (others did) and they are not using McKesson (the company hired by Warp Speed to handle logistics of vaccine delivery) for vaccine distribution while others are. Warp Speed will be buying the vaccine from Pfizer once it’s delivered to wherever the Warp Speed program and CDC tell them to deliver it. When you show up to get the Pfizer vaccine the vials and syringes used by the provider to inoculate you will have also been provided under the warp speed program. That’s why the vaccine is free.
The threat was that prescribing could put you in front of the state’s review board. In March, the Governor of Michigan issued a formal warning about the possibility. That’s the origin of this “it’s the left that’s politicizing!” And with everything about this, the horse must be beaten again and again.
The gotcha game will never end. They set the rules of the game right at the outset (see pages 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.). And if they find anyone who disagrees with them, they'll branch off to another venue that suits their interests, be it a social media platform, news source, etc. There's no sense reasoning with them.
