Sounds like things may be getting political now...

While I agree it is bad show, the reality is even if every executive gave up their entire checks, it would pay for about an hour for each of the laid off employees. It is time politicians start being realistic and actually crunch numbers before making statements like hers.

She also has to remember that Disney has a legal responsibility to their share holders and they would be held accountable if they didn't meet those obligations.

Political grandstanding at its worst. Even if every executive gave back their salary it would not make any difference in terms saving jobs.

Also last time I checked Disney was a private company. As much as (Orange Man's favorite nickname for her) loves the Socialism and government control of private companies, Disney can do whatever the hell it feels like which will honor their fiduciary duty to the shareholders.

Maybe if she really cared, instead of clamoring for cheap PR, she'd be encouraging her gov buddy in California to let them open up. Disney has demonstrated they can do it safely and responsibly, but I guess it's still not good enough for the knuckleheads in California.

Of course it's not her transparent actions to appeal to the low-information electorate.

I'd so love to be able to question her...
"In the years leading up to this crisis, your company prioritized the enrichment of executives and stockholders through hefty compensation packages, and billions of dollars’ worth of dividend payments and stock buybacks, all of which weakened Disney’s financial cushion and ability to retain and pay its front-line workers amid the pandemic"

Me: "So Ms Senator, exactly how long should every business plan on having a complete shutdown of their operations to avoid being labeled "short sighted"? Could you tell me how long the federal government pays all of its workers when their funding is removed?"

I wonder how much her campaigns got from the mouse?
In any case I think she put on her California senator hat for this one and is feigning outrage using SoCals love/hate relationship with TWDC. More of a show for the hometown voters I think.

Usually not a fan of her's, but she's got the right idea here.
Ehhh...I’m almost always pro-labor...but she’s shouting to the storm on this one.

Maybe the casual Disney fan/traveler can demand answers on this one. We here cannot.

Why? We feed the beast...and we all know the beast. Nobody who throws/has thrown money at Disney without any principle can cry out. Myself included. It is...what it is.

So the people who buy into the bull excrement she’s peddling aren’t informationally challenged?

Maybe the answer is just around the river bend.
Now I like that...that was funny.

But unless I’m not reading properly...and it happens...and since we have the NEW tag on this thread:

Just today I’ve seen:
1. Anti worker
2. Pro-bad management (pay no attention to the doctor strangled behind the curtain)
3. A classic mysoginistic trope of low intelligence.

Not the best day. (And I don’t care too much for Liz Warren)
