Disney capacity limit is not at 2%. It’s probably closer to 25-50% which is still a lot of people.

It’s the norm here. I’m still trying to figure out how we know Disney hasn’t raised capacity limits when we don’t know what the capacity limits are.
The funny thing is I don’t even know why it matters.
In regards to yesterday’s executive order it will be interesting to see if Disney makes any changes in the next few weeks. I believe they’ve extended park hours in October so maybe fireworks aren’t far off.
I know a lot of you won’t go until the drop the mask mandate so hopefully that is in the not so distant future.

The Disney capacity limits are a well kept secret. I doubt there are many people who know the answer and it wouldn’t be wise to share it here if they did. From the original re-opening plans all the way back when Shanghai was opening, Chapek said they were going to keep capacity limits very low to start out (well below what the government would allow) and ramp up over time as they got more comfortable they could successfully handle the crowds and also as conditions with the virus improved. For WDW conditions didn’t improve when they opened they got worse for the better part of the summer. As the summer wound down and conditions improved some they could have increased capacity limits but we will never really know.
As far as the executive order goes the initial release from Disney is they would assess the impact to their business but there were no changes being made to current protocols. I suppose that could change in a few weeks but not likely. On the hours topic, I could be wrong but I thought they just increased hours back to the original 10 hours a day only on the weekends. The parks are dead during the week and more crowded on the weekends due to locals. I would think if they anticipated a larger increase in demand from tourists they would open additional resorts to fill the need. It seems like WDW is largely getting by on the backs of local AP holders. Fireworks are a possibility but I would think they would be hyping that to get holiday bookings up. Disney has tried to highlight the holiday offerings but no mention of fireworks, just the castle projection show.
In Disney’s release in reaction to the executive order they went out of their way to reiterate that their mask rule still stays. I don’t think they will budge on that any time soon without a significant improvement in FL. I could be wrong on that, it wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong.

My guess would be that we won’t see many changes so long as the Disneyland Resort remains closed. I agree with that. As puzzled as I am with what the guy running FL is doing, the situation in CA is also confusing in the other extreme. Theme parks have been opened for a while now is most places without major issues. I’d think they would want a place like DLR open to show other businesses what it looks like to have a good plan that’s actually enforced.
So, when there is a scientific consensus on COVID matters, you're saying that all the medical scientists from all the worlds countries and states and local county health departments have been bought off for some political purpose?

It's not personally something that concerns me. I have no WDW plans at this time, but if I do decide to go back over the next year the restrictions or lack of restrictions won't affect my enjoyment. My next trip to WDW is not for 11 months so they have plenty of time to get back to something that resembles normal. Until a time where theme parks are in the cards for me again I’ll just avoid them and amusement parks and other large crowd venues and stick to local stuff or outdoor activities like the beach, mountains or parks. It’s amazing all the natural stuff near me that I’ve never gotten around to doing. It won’t be too long before things get a lot better. I can wait it out.

Hopefully Fireworks are not to far off. Seems to be mixed opinions on that. Some think soon, some think not for a very long time yet. Plans change all the time especially nowadays. I guess we will see.

Anything is possible. Outside of the Covid safety concerns there is an economic component as well. Those shows are pricey and right now WDW is on a shoe string budget. I was at one point thinking maybe for the holidays if demand shoots up but I don‘t know anymore. I do think the situation with DLR plays a part in the decision too. They are going out of their way to appear as conservative as possible hoping for a good outcome there. Lots of variables make it hard to call.
