You know, I personally would prefer if they just left Splash Mountain as is and did something new with the Brers (like a Disney+ series) to further distance the characters from Song of the South.
Tracks from the movie.Changing tracks: Do you guys think they'll record new versions of the PatF music for Splash or do you think they'll just use the tracks from the movie?
Is there any stock still in the rumor that only California gets the retheme?
Is there stock in the rumour? I’d say yes. Is it confirmed? No not at all. Should we wait and see instead of having false hope (or anger)? Yes we should. Is there any stock still in the rumor that only California gets the retheme?
Let's just build this at this point.

Nothing says the American Frontier like an English bear of very little brain.actually if splash has to have its IP replaced changing it into a grand Pooh attraction would not be bad,,,then make a new dark ride where pooh is now. I never thought of Winnie in that location but it could work.
Critter country says "hello!"Nothing says the American Frontier like an English bear of very little brain.

Any other discussion of what you could do to Splash outside of Princess and the Frog is just blue sky and belongs in Imagineering.
Reddit moment. This thread is looking more and more like it should go under the Imagineering forum. The point of the Splash re-theme is two-fold. 1) Remove any reference to Song of the South, no matter how distant and 2) AND purposely theme it to Princess and the Frog whose protagonist (i.e. Princess Tiana) is an African-American to celebrate rather than be embrassed about. (Uncle Tom, er, Remus).

Well, if recent rumours are to go by, there’s a chance the tether could be something else, not PatF. So we are just discussing some alternatives that could fit the land and that Tokyo might like.I'm just saying what is. You aren't discussing the attraction which is what I thought this thread was supposed to be about Nor am I arguing for or against. We're beyond that. Instead, I'm reading pointless wishful thinking about a a Western river attraction or proper theming or whatever.
