2 days in a row under 10K cases....when do they revoke the mask rule and lift capacity restrictions at WDW;););)
I remember back in May/June people kept saying that masks wouldn't last long or at all at Disney's pushed back open date. It was only a couple weeks into Universal and vloggers were like "yeah idk I think masks might be optional soon!" Then the cases spiked and we are a looooong way off from any of these restrictions being pulled back anytime soon. Good thing I'm used to it now.

I think it would be a catastrophic mistake to lift mask restrictions before 2021

True. I was one of the people who held out hope that if the situation improved we would be in full open phase by August with some or all of the restrictions removed including masks. I remember saying that if they just wait a little while longer To open maybe they could open without masks at all. Then things got bad in a hurry. I’m now hoping for a quick change in the other direction, but I think restrictions will be with us for the long haul now, at least until a vaccine if that works out.

I think that's a safe bet. I know comfort level doesn't matter, but we are in the worst of it now. If I can get through it in July I can get through it in November. None of these restrictions should be changed or lifted until the state (and maybe the country) is under control.
Masks will be around until a sufficient amount of the population has been vaccinated

That’s my hope too. If we can get to that point with masks and other restrictions thats the best bet for everyone and the economy. I refuse to call this a new normal...I prefer calling it a temporary normal. If the vaccine doesn’t work out then we can revisit that.

A lot of the major chains have only this week made masks mandatory nationwide. (HD, Lowes, Kroger, Target, Walmart, etc) They wouldn't be doing that if they thought it was only going to be short term. Coupled with Walmart already announcing that they won't open on Thanksgiving (and what will probably end up being a year without a normal 'Black Friday') its very logical that the mask mandates will last into 2021 in those stores and places.

Temporary normal is fair. Eventually things should go back to the way it was, but we can't pretend this isn't our current environment for the foreseeable future.
