Just something in passing... those of you that don't see the ads are missing some pretty risque stuff for a family site. Just saying!

I know. They are ridiculous. I don’t need a wife from Russia. I mean really. These ads are supposed to match our interests? I don’t think so.Even when I click the I don’t want to see that ad anymore, it still pops up.

The toilet paper thing is not true in one large local supermarket from the area I live. There was plenty of toilet paper left.

A lot of people were buying buying a lot of water,soda and energy drinks there today. They had to place a limit on how many cases of water people can buy.

The "run" on bottled water is in my area as well. We don't need it at home but all three of us take it to work and or school to drink during lunch. I'm gonna be at the front door of Costco tomorrow when they open. Gonna see if I can buy ONE case of bottled water.
Probably many panicky people recently bought multiple cases. Someone my wife knows yesterday posted a photo of our Costco at 5pm. The shelves were totally empty where the bottled water normally is. This morning I went to Shop Rite at 7am so I could buy ONE loaf of bread.

But this wasn't exactly about information.
It was a pretty hard 180 turn on decisions based on what was going on.
This was about controlling panic. People panic when they fear the unknown.
The rushes for toilet paper is a fine example of this panic.
By providing full blown control AND country wide tests.. it will diminish the fear and make people know that their government is doing something.

Again, knowledge is power. When information lacks credibility that sparks the panic. It isn't that people lack the IQ to digest solid information to make informed decisions, it is the lack of credible info and being fed info that is lacking credibility. It happened again today mid-day. Information in the US is in the moment fact checked.

Me I have made very deliberate purchases, toilet paper being one of them, likely a good 2 months worth. But I put thought into it. I was not panicking. One we have the real possibility of containing us to our homes to attempt to break the cycle. Should any of this actually happen the manufacturers will stop producing because their employees are either sick or in lockdown. We do not know how many citizens have the virus already. The overwhelming majority of the sick have not been tested so the numbers being stated by our government are artificially low. You need accurate information to decide thoughtfully what you will purchase and how much to tide you over. Not given true or accurate info you over estimate lacking the ability to plan. That is not panic. That is attempting to be prepared.

I did 2 hurricanes in Disney over the last couple of years. I bought batteries, put a couple of cases of water in our room. Ordered some food I otherwise would not have and multiple flashlights and battery light sources along with an analog radio.

Being prepared is not panic it is an intelligent thing to do.

You know water comes out of your faucet at home right? If you don't have some.. buy some refillable bottles!

I can't help you there, but I know there are multiple events canceled including shows, trade shows and the Flower and Garden show. The Saint Patrick's Day Parade even got canceled in my area.

The canceling right now I think is through early April.

Will you have meetings next week to come up with a plan? I know that our teachers are not on vacation., nor do they want to be.
I don’t think a lot of people really want a forced vacation... especially if that means extending into the time of year where you would normally be on vacation.

The Governor shut down all schools through March but one is Spring Break here

Library’s all around here are closed through March

Municipal non essential are also shutting down

The Ohio Governor was very clear today that this is not a “break”. Students will continue to learn during this time period.. teachers/schools/districts are working to each develop a plan that works best for them.

I haven’t read all of our governor’s statement to be honest. I’m trying to enjoy the last part of my trip. . Actually, this whole thing of WDW shutting down makes it easier to leave tomorrow because I know I can’t be in the parks anyway!
