My husband has now written to the school, as have many other parents. What bothers us most is the lack of communication. We never got any sort of itinerary or even a letter saying the trip was coming up. But the kids have been asking about the corona threat for weeks. No one ever contacted us to ask us, as parents, how we felt about our kids going on this trip. No one ever warned us that there was a possibility of a cancellation. In fact, they told the kids time and again that it would ONLY be canceled if the experts said it was not a good idea, and we've been watching the webpage and it still says it's safe. We understand for the groups who were supposed to visit Italy, but there's no reason for the London trip to be cancelled. There are fewer cases of Corona in the UK than there are here in the Netherlands. But why didn't we hear ANYTHING until half a week before?
Poor baby I feel so bad for her, she always works so hard on all her work. Now onto the school WT* I can't believe you're not even getting any answers. Is it because it was upgraded to a pandemic? You should get your money back from the school!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sending pixie dust and frying pan
It has been a very rough week here, too. Tuesday, the teacher that got my DD interested in pursuing a science field in college, passed away in his sleep. 38 years old. The school students are reeling. Wednesday evening, the school board cancels all travel, including the band trip to SoCal. They were supposed to leave early morning March 22. Today we got the email, no refunds.

DS's school is still open. However, the trend seems to say he most likely won't have classes after his break. Some schools are questioning if there will even be commencement. Carppy way to end your 4 years of hard work. We will see about the June trip to Colombia, I guess.

Wow. That’s devastating about the teacher. :(

I’ve also been thinking about seniors the past day or so, what a horrible time to be graduating. I hope this moves thru quickly and all activities can resume.

You're visiting us from your bed:cautious:

Yes! Actually from a chair, sitting, with a sheet thrown over it.lol. I got some work done this morning.. but can’t do as much from home, I don’t have everything I need. I will do some more work later though.
I also sanitized my bathroom, T’s and the guest bath. I’m going crazy. I tire easy, I have a cough and my body hurts, but I’m not an invalid.. I could be at my office.. however, I’m pushing that out of my mind since I literally lost my mind yesterday and just now got it back today ;)
I just can not spend one more day in bed.

A little puttering is ok anything else is not. Pneumonia is nothing to mess with. As a reminder my world is still upside down over a week and a half later and none of us were the ones that got it knock wood. Just adding I never and I mean never ever, never ever, ever again wish to go into the cess pool that is the politics thread. Thank you

I wanted to do a sad face and a laugh face at the same time on this post lol. I’m sorry that your world is upside down, but I’m laughing at your politics thread comment.
I meant what I said- You really are too nice to be down there!!!! I’ve always been very passionate about politics and enjoy discussing and debating about them, but it is a lot different online than in person I’ve found., there’s no tone, so things come across more ?mean? than they should, and I think without the face to face talk it gets a little out of hand... from me too.
