I think you can.
My grandmother had an ancient Singer. Not only did it weigh a ton, but she had it in something called a sewing machine table, that also weighed a ton! (I'm surprised the darn thing didn't break through the floor!)
On a completely unrelated matter, I get these AAA tips about road trips. Received one today about spring road trips across the country. One of them was in the Austin area -- Texas Hill Country and a 13-mile Willow City loop. You're probably familiar with that area. Looked very nice, and they suggested from March - May for scenic drives.

Friday the 13th is a good day. I married Mrs F on a Friday the 13th.
or just keep the drives in LOCKDOWN mode, aka cannot erase unless you're administrator.
I understand the stubborn part.
My mom tried to talk my dad into renting a scooter 2 years ago for WDW, but he refused. My dad before going to WDW 2 years ago had knees in very bad shape. What happened was my dad used his knees a lot through the years including work. My dad did a lot of climbing in the electrical field and the use with his knees at home also.
His stubbornness caused him not to use all 10 WDW days because of how his knees were and my mom was with my dad with her missing theme parks days also due to him.
My dad wanted to use his cane instead. He was not able to last even a day at the WDW theme parks with a cane even taking hotel breaks, but he still refused to get a Scooter. My dad knew about the amount miles at WDW since he went there many times before 2018 including 2017.
My dad decided to rent a scooter for final 3 days of the WDW trip of an entire 2 week WDW trip after he admitted that he made a mistake by being stubborn.
Yep, both my grandmothers had same, and they were pedal/treadle-powered...no electricity needed.
Mom has a newer electric model that I think made it through the fire. Pop has had a few sewing machines over the years, one he used for leather.
My grandmothers were similar to this one...
You trip is in May. I think it doesn't need to be rescheduled. We are going to Uni the second full week of May.If it was up to me, I would still go. It's like the whole has gone bloody insane, more than usual.
Wow!!! It is simply gorgeous in that part of Texas.Yep, both my grandmothers had same, and they were pedal/treadle-powered...no electricity needed.

And yes, the Willow City Loop is up near Fredericksburg, were we’ve been many times. Just one of many B-E-A-Utiful Texas Hill Country drives, especially during our wildflower season, which is not all that far away.
All from the Willow City Loop...sorry, mighta’ got a bit carried away...!!!!!

@ajrwdwgirl , I can't wait to hear about your adventures today! I'm enjoying the various photos you've been sharing, too. (I can "pretend" I'm down there with you two!)
Have a Dole whip. (Do they serve those for breakfast?)
Almost all water sources of any size have backup power. Here there are about 40 trillion water towers in the area where water is pumped into them and they are gravity fed from there. (no power required). Those places without towers usually have a reservoir located at the highest point in the area which is filled by pumping water into them and then are gravity fed. They also usually have backup power. So unless you have a well or are on a local community water system that shouldn't be a problem. After treatment, most systems are sealed. Unless there is a line break that also shouldn't be a problem. The idea that stocking up on water during almost any type of problem exists around them are not going to be a problem unless you are on one of the previously mentioned exceptions. Very few urban people have anything to worry about when it comes to water. Not directly related to anything here, but someone told me the other day about water that flows into homes and businesses, and the power needed to run it. Generally speaking (and only In an emergency situation such as if the power grid went down), eventually the water would stop flowing. And you also may not know when it would be safe to drink, even if it started up again.
