Those photos are priceless. So happy that not everything got destroyed in the fire.

Also, it's good to see that things are coming along, even if a bit slowly. It's one step at a time, and it's moving forward.

Thanks so very much, Minnie...!!! :)
Yep, one foot in front of the other...slow, but, sure.
The funny thing is, there’s so much stuff that we had forgotten about a lot of it. For instance, I had no clue all those sports trophies had been saved for all these years...!!!!! :hilarious:
Just so very grateful that the fire department isn't very far away.
One of the partners related to me that one of their neighbors homes burned to the ground a few years ago. I, of course, know the neighborhood and was not surprised, as it’s a gated community a long way out near Lake Austin, and quite a haul from a fire station.
Even before mom and pops fire, I have always seen on Google Earth how far so many clients properties we do homes for are from emergency services (fire, police, EMS), and it always concerns me a bit.
A coupla’ higher-end neighborhoods in the area now require homes to have fire sprinklers, and other clients are just choosing to do it, but, it sure as heck isn’t cheap, and the water supply has to be pressure tested to make sure it’s adequate.
Anyhoo, thanks again, Minnie...!!! :)

I'm so happy for you and your family that the pics were saved. I don't know if you want to consider this but we have transferred all the family pics ono discs and made copies everybody in the family.

Thanks so much, Figgy...!!! :)
As I mentioned in my following post, pop has scanned all the pics over recent years, and they are on his salvaged computer. And, there are at least 2 disc copies that were kept in a fireproof box in another part of the house that the fire never touched...!!! :)

You two always get so many great pictures of the Dapper Dans. I'm convinced that every time you visit Disney, they know ahead of time -- and get out there to perform a VIP set just for you!!! :joyfull:

How are the crowds down there, by the way? Any problems getting into the restaurants you want?

Ha ha! Not VIP just my husband being super stalkerish of the Dans! 🤪. Crowds aren’t too bad we have had some good food and we got all the ressies we wanted. Actually tomorrow we were supposed to eat at the new Toledo restaurant but have decided to try Topolino at the Riviera instead for dinner and got the time we wanted. Tomorrow is our first day attempting to get on Rise I’d the Resistance so keep your fingers crossed for us.

Speaking of tools, do you, @John park hopper , or @Goofyernmost ever use Snap-On Tools? Hubs is like a kid in a candy store when their truck comes around. :hilarious: (He doesn't buy as much as he used to -- he has more tools than a hardware store at this point. ;) ) But they've always stood by their tools, and I know once or twice they replaced a worn/damaged one for free. (Along with his Craftsman tools, he's used Snap-on for years for everything from car mechanics to electronics building/repair.)

No Snap-On, but, Craftsman replaces their tools for free, as well. The only tool I can remember breaking for any of us was a 4-ended cross tire iron where a piece on one end that goes over the lug nut chipped off. Not a Craftsman tool, but, pop still has it ‘cause the other 3 ends are still good...!!!!! :hilarious:

Just saw a commercial askin’ why round pizza comes in a square box... :cyclops:
I’m goin’ with probably ‘cause it would be more costly to produce, and more difficult to fold...it’s not like there’s an expensive hat in there...plus, try fitting a same size across square pizza (an option at some establishments) in the same-sized round box...!!!!! :hilarious:

figmentfan423 I must confess I bought sometime ago an old Singer sewing machine model 15-91 (1956), it will sew through anything-- got it for making boat cushions and car seat covers. Now I don't consider it a sewing machine it's a tool ---Ha Ha

My mom and pop actually have a few sewing machines. My mom used to make many of our shirts when we were younger, and pop still loves the older machines for making similar to what you described.
One of our nieces was taking a smaller one out of the house today and needed help...she couldn’t believe how heavy it was...!!!!! :hilarious:

No, during the years that I was collecting tools, I couldn't afford Snap On tools. Craftsman had the same lifetime warranty, cost less and could be purchased with my Sears Credit Card.

Since I am currently in the process of moving to a Senior Apartment complex I am going to have to part with my Craftsman tools and tool box since I have no place to store it.. I hate to do it but truthfully I don't use any of it anymore other than a Craftsman Ratchet set and a few hand tools that I have room for. I'm thinking that I will give them to one of my SIL's where I can still have access to them if I need to. I just find that I need to less and less these days. Although I can still use most of them, I don't really want too. Most of us ancients that grew up maintaining our own vehicles have been left in the dust because of technology. I look under the hood of my car and besides the radiator and dipstick nothing even vaguely looks familiar. I had my Cadillac for 8 years and because the engine had a huge plastic cowel over it, I don't even know what the engine looked like. Even the battery was under the back seat which seemed just plain counterintuitive.

Yep, when ya’ pop the hood on most cars these days, you can’t even see light comin’ through from below on a sunny day. ;)
On the other hand, that old yellow ‘70 Chevy Camper Special that my folks still have, you can almost stand in the engine compartment on either side...!!!!! :hilarious:

ETA...
One of my BILs owned a Chrysler Sebring convertible at one point, and the battery was located behind the drivers side wheel well in its own special compartment. He didn’t even know after he bought it used until he suspected the battery died, and couldn’t find the damn thing... :cyclops: It had, and you had to take the rear drivers side wheel off to get to it...what a MAJOR PITA if it ever just needed a simple jump...!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious:
