They did an article about these sears houses not to long ago on our local news, we have a lot of these homes in our city apparently. Back when people worked hard and put their own houses together!
I read an article on those houses years ago and I remember the article said the quality of the lumber was nothing you see going into he houses being built today---- knot free lumber in roof rafters, floor joists, wall studs etc. Sears used to be my father and mines go to store shame what has happened to Sears

It is all just indicative of the way this country is now. People are not trained properly because it cost to much money, plus it apparently isn't necessary when you can make up things as one goes along. All of the hinges on having people that don't know any better.

I've been having trouble with my windshield wipers on my car. They don't clear off the windshield properly and just shudder across the windshield in the rain. The harder it rains the worse it gets. On top of being dangerous because my vision is compromised, the noise that it makes can drive a person insane. Frankly it is a short trip for me these days, but I have owned enough vehicles and worked on enough vehicles to know that is not what is supposed to be happening. I've had the car for a year and got it new. It has done this since shortly after I got it.

I have taken it back three times now and this is what I get for a response. "That is the way the wipers are designed. They are low profile wipers and there is nothing we can do about it. We can replace the blades, but they are all the same. You can buy after market ones (not cheap) but that would be at your expense." I told them that I was going to do exactly that and since apparently VW doesn't stand by its product and allows a safety issue to continue, they will have sold me that last VW I will ever get. I also told them that I hoped that the cost of those blades were worth the loss of a sale and that I was going to tell everyone I know, in person or social media, that same thing. I hate being told that something I know is wrong is "the way it is supposed to be" I commented that they should find the engineer that designed those things and the agent that made the decision to use them and fire them both.

I almost never do that with anyone, but I hate being treated like a fool and lied too. Their only other recommendation other then getting new ones at my expense was that I should use windex and a rag and clean the blades off once a week to get rid of the built up oils and dirt. Who the hell wants to have to do that every week to fix something that shouldn't be happening to begin with. Besides I have tried that and it doesn't work at all. OK, rant done!

Our society no longer takes responsibility for anything and has absolutely no problem lying to your face about it. How did we get here?
There was a time you could replace just the rubber wiper part for a couple of bucks (can't buy anymore) now you have to buy the whole wiper blade which costs 10-25 dollars depending on the brand so much for cutting down on waste. Buy a product and they don't stand by it I know your frustration

My home AC/heat pump was not working right last week-- no heat. Its a York older unit and the defrost circuit board was the cause. York was bought out by Coleman and guess what they don't make the board (obsolete) So now I'm screwed would have to buy a new system 8K ouch. Searched and searched the web for a week no luck checked eBay ever day and one popped up last Friday ( what luck) cost me 50bucks I wired it in and I'm back in business. Ebay the best modern invention.

We have a home warranty. Our heat/ac pump died last year. Would have cost us about 10k to replace. With our warranty we had to pay only for the new unit to get charged for the ac. So glad we had the warranty.

Our warranty was up years ago I'm all most embarrassed to say our York is 25 years old but I have been able to keep it running by working on it myself. Sad but max life I have read is 15-20 years so I am on borrowed time. Told the wife start an AC replacement fund

We have American Home Shield. They warranty all our appliances, plumbing like the water heater, toilets, ac and heat. The only problem is you have to wait for them to do their assessment and then their contractor has to tell them what is necessary. It took about 2 weeks to get the ac approved and replaced. I didn’t care. It saved us thousands of dollars. Our upstairs ac was working so the kids just hung out more upstairs until the downstairs unit was fixed.
