It is Thanksgiving week, one of the busiest out of the whole year.

The TSL preview took place on several days 2-3 hours before the park opened. You had to reserve the time in advance. I had time reserved but never bothered attending because I was able to get on everything during last years Moonlight Magic.I wasn’t a Passholder at the time TSL opened, so could someone describe how those make-up events worked, please?
Wait...there’s money to be had??If they click like @Sirwalterraleigh
I went to the cast member preview before toy story land even opened and I waited about 60 mins for SDD.I want to say they were exclusive after-hours events in September. The land had opened June 30.
I am laughing so hard over that anecdote! It's hysterical!
It's just a theme park, and yet they act like it's a top secret Titan II missile installation. The cubicle bosses seem to make it so hard on themselves and their CM's by getting so stressed out over a theme park, and pretend like they are doing the Lord's work in saving lives instead of just running a theme park.
So because I have the ability to step back and enjoy a fun Thanksgiving week, I'm going to just wander away from this thread for the next week and make myself a Mimosa on this sunny & crisp afternoon and mull whether to do a cornbread stuffing or a sourdough stuffing for Thursday.
Good luck TDO suits and WDW CM's, and don't forget to breathe!![]()
I completely understand what you're saying -- but it's what the plot of the land calls for. It's a hidden rebel base, which calls for understated! (Despite the literal tank on wheels which is the queue start)It's crazy what an understated entrance and exit ROTR has.
I wasn’t a Passholder at the time TSL opened, so could someone describe how those make-up events worked, please?
Sort of like Flight of Passage, which has even less of a marquee entrance than ROTR. It’s the exit structure that baffles me most. It’s huge, and while you can barely glimpse it through the trees, it’s pretty well hidden for such a large structure that’s actually very close to the path. It’s going to be fun to watch the foliage continue to grow. It's crazy what an understated entrance and exit ROTR has.
I’m lost. I’m not sure a) what part of the film you’re talking about or b) how this relates to Rise of the Resistance. What I’m trying to say is: Can we please share our TLJ hot takes elsewhere? The entire plot of Last Jedi was based around an entire First Order Fleet failing to look out a window until some rando guy tells them to look out a window.
Not even joking...the entire plan "General Human Resources Associate" had was completely dependent on nobody looking out one of the thousands of windows on the star destroyers...including the dozen with bridges directly facing the Resistance fleet.
(When people wonder why I hate this movie so much, its this right here...I can understand one stormtrooper missing something, but this would be like a full stadium at the Super Bowl not noticing the game being played until the second half two minute warning.
TSL Passholder play time was awesome, I can confirm I rode SDD 5 or 6 times in a row. There were intentionally low amount of "tickets" given out, it was quite the treat. They "sold out" I believe.
Please remain on topic. If anyone is unable do that, they will be banned from this thread. Thanks.
The people who want this attraction to fail are the same people who can’t tolerate too many girls in the SW films (but they’ll never admit that and focus on being hyper critical for the sake of being hyper critical).
I mean, after 3 films with 1 girl (Leia) and then another 3 putrid endeavors with essentially 1 girl (Padme), the mere thought of 50/50 is so mind blowing that every second of each of the new films is anathema.
Plus the head off Lucasfilm is a girl. These same fools rather have Jar Jar Binks than Rey.
They’ve just been terrible movies...it honestly doesn’t have much more to look at than that.
Thanks for spreading the “vast stupid wing conspiracy”...that it’s evil anti-feminists.
The ride is what it is...based on bad movies. The movies have been bad...they made them. Only those with unhealthy/ bizarre Disney of Star Wars obsession get offended when they’re criticized.
It’s not normal.
Well, there are tons of MRA-types out there who hate anything that feels #Femenist. They love to punish studios and cheer the movie's failure. You saw it with Captain Marvel. Not a great movie IMO, but the youtubers and online trolls were reporting on this movie and how terrible it was going to be/is for months. The recent Star Wars movies have been just as good/not great as the original trilogy. The original trilogy has tons to plot holes and problems, but we overlook the issues because we remember how we felt the first time watching. The new movies are similar, but way too many fanbois are determined to hate the films and punish Disney for touching their nostalgia.
Point meet example.
I don't think the new Star Wars movies are, on average, as good as the original trilogy. I'm not blinded by nostalgia or anti-feminist. I just don't think they're as good and it's as simple as that.
I wanted to avoid hopping into this, but might as well!
I am an enormous fan of Rogue One and The Mandalorian.
I have a friend who starred in Solo, despite this, I believe it is a horrid film.
My reaction to episode 7 is as follows: Very well made, does not add much new in terms of Star Wars but sets up some really interesting characters. I am excited to see where this goes.
My reaction to episode 8 is as follows: Well that was interesting. Everything that episode 7 was thrown out the window, so many quintessential aspects of Star Wars were trashed through horrid leadership. The transition from J.J. Abrams to Rian Johnson led to the mess which was 8. I found myself disliking all the characters, regardless of their gender.
Returning to episode 7 with episode 8 in mind makes me dislike the film as everything it was building up to turn to ash.
I do not dislike the new trilogy because of the strong female leads, I dislike it because it is a bad movie.
Last I recall, Rouge One contained a female lead. It is 0.6 points higher than Episode 8 on IMBD, and 0.1 higher than Episode 3, the highest-rated prequel despite not having female leads.
Before I end my Star Wars rant, I believe the franchise as a whole is massively overrated, not saying it is bad, but I am far from the cult following it has come to acquire.
Just going to bring up Captain Marvel for good measures. I saw the film prior to seeing Endgame. I went in with rock-bottom expectations and I enjoyed it. It was not anything special but nor are 75% of Marvel films.
For nearly every aspect of life, boxes have to be checked for ratios of genders, races, and sexualities. Forcing characters into a piece of entertainment specifically to appease individuals is not doing anyone justice. The same for removing characters from a piece of entertainment to appease individuals.
Concluding that an individual is sexist simply because they dislike a movie that has a female lead is simply naive. Likes and dislikes are extraordinarily subjective, especially in regards to movies.
They don't see it as free advertising, quite the opposite. They won't bother you, but instead are actively hunting down the source of the leaks and terminating their employment.Disney never ever bothered me with all the leaked images I have been posting. I am assuming that they look at it as some kind of free advertising. I have only stopped recently because I was asked to by my contacts and want to respect their wishes, but it is killing me lol.
Only 9 days to go so I guess I can hold off the images, but of course talking about things works too.
I hope once these open, we are still here talking about RotR. There will be plenty to chat about for sure.
One thing I predict though, even if this attraction is incredible and has NO FLAWS. I promise their will be someone on here that wants to come in here and complain about it in some way.
How has testing been going? I've seen some rumors that the ride hasn't operated longer than one hour at a time. Is that true?Due to a lot of testing, the trackless vehicles have been leaving their marks all over the floor. The track path of the attraction is basically revealed if you look down during your ride. I’ve been advised to not do that.
