People never seem to realize that the only really "long form (15+ Minutes)" rides in 1982 were SE and WoM...A lot of people point to UoE, but that's not really accurate. You actually were traveling a bit over 6 minutes total and sitting in a parked car for rest of the time.

The total "experience times" could be quite long, but the rides have not really been that long.

I get the feeling Im going to get called out on this, but I cant think of a single ride from that period that was beyond the 10 minute mark of pure ride experience.

SE, WoM, Horizons, Listen To The Land and Journey were all long rides. Im fact UofE and Body Wars were the only rides with short movement times. That all the replacements are either really short or non existent is one of the reasons people feel Epcot doesn't have a lot

I left out the Railroad, Horizons and Riverboat...failure on my part, but they also are 95% foliage and fences with a rare thing to see...

But I think my point is made that long form, self contained, fully themed story based attractions are not, and have never been, the normal attraction at WDW.

..yes it seems Disney is counting anything they can, towards the promised # of animatronics. ride car droids alone are 38, plus the 50 in the hangar is 83...then some Kylos, Finns, BB8, Nien Nunm, Mon Calimari...

And (as I've mentioned years earlier) every physical piece of wall that gets 'blasted away' could technically be called an animatronic. They used to brag about the Zip-a-Dee-Lady rocking riverboat being the largest animated figure ever. Same logic applies here.

I agree many go into the extremes. I am far from a brand loyalist right now, but I agree with you. I think Navi is great, but far to short. If they added 30-40%, it would be an amazing addition. Much like Kali. It feels like it got cut to death.

i honestly can’t tell if you’re serious or this is meant in sarcasm - Kali is one of the worst river rides ever built. Popeye down the street or heck even Magic Mountain’s from the 1980’s makes Kali look like a complete joke - unless you are REALLY into floating by burning trees.

But this isn’t a thread reviewing WDI’s recent creative failures (well except Batuu and MFSR) - back to ROTR.

Has anybody confirmed if there is Star Wars music playing inside a Star Destroyer or my prison transport cart? Can’t wait to watch WDI once again violate their ridiculous self-imposed “immersion” rules when no longer convenient.

I like Navi River Journey and quite dislike Smuggler’s Run. Toy Story Land makes me gag. I think Mystic Manor’s art style is ugly but Galaxy’s Edge is beautiful despite having a borderline embarrassing sole attraction at the moment. Am I a blind brand loyalist too? Or maybe I just have varied opinions?

I’m looking forward to ROTR. I’m hoping for something like IJA: an impressive buildup before an inelegant and brief but rollicking ride stuffed with content. By the way, IJA is 3.5 minutes in duration and has 4 animatronics and somehow it’s considered one of the greatest rides of all time. I lowered my expectations for MFSR when Martin described it as Hogwarts Express for Star Wars fans, and the result barely even met those expectations. So far I see no reason to lower my expectations for ROTR, and even if it barely meets them, that would make it as good or better than Indiana Jones. That would be a serious achievement.

But just because there are 9 animatronics and not 100 it’s going to be trash? Have you people enjoyed any ride built since EPCOT Center opened? If the answer is no, your opinion is defensible and valid. But it ignores ToT, Indiana Jones, and FJ, and I haven’t seen so much disdain for those.

It’s about the entire ride experience - for me personally, I was only commenting on the person saying “we shouldn’t be expecting a lot of AA’s”. For the $100M+ headliner attraction to an already horribly disappointing land, I’m expecting (and hoping) it blows me away whatever the technology or amount of actual AA’s. WDI’s actual output and fans’ continued lowered expectations for past several years makes hoping difficult, but it’s all we have.

No, it's not a difference of opinion (no matter how ridiculous I may think that opinion is) that makes one a troll. But if you are going to post something like that and not be a troll, back up your argument. If he truly does like Jar Jar and thinks Vi is a far worse character, I have no problem with that, but make a case. Just simply posting what he did is trollish behavior.

I appreciate the sincere reply. You make your point well here. It’s definitely fair to be skeptical based on Falcon and the Land itself under-delivering so far. The rest, as we agree, is up to our own informed speculation. Then, later, how much we personally enjoy the finished product.

Well it uses the same ride system as Remy. Remy has no height requirement. This ride has the same height requirement as Tower of Terror and Star Tours. We should have expected (what Disney considers to be) a thrill ride.
