EPCOT Epcot Forever to debut as interim show before full Reflections of Earth replacement

For those wishing to concentrate on just the music, without the visuals -

I saw several of the videos of the new show. the worst was the Disney Parks Blog. I do agree that the only way to see a fireworks show is in person. Videos can never capture the full show. I will see it in November but I will miss RoE.No, DO go and see it in person as videos do not capture the full effect.
I might have mixed feelings on seeing the debut performance, but anyone interested should see it in person and then form their own opinion.
You may well like it.
The laser effects all around you were pretty cool.
Lots of pyro.
Music was okay in some spots....and the kite elements are terrific fun.
Do go and see it at some point.

There are elements i enjoyed, but also other elements i didn't care for.
'Illuminations' is a very challenging act to follow, and this Show was never meant to do that as we all know.
'HarmoniUS' has some very big Mickey sized shoes to fill, but in the meantime we can mull over this 'Epcot tribute show'.
A part of me can appreciate the fact Disney even did a Show such as this.
Doing a nostalgia 'throwback' fireworks presentation nightly for Epcot is kind of nice in some respects.
For so many years they were outright ignoring that past legacy.
Certain people ( cough...) and retro inspired EPCOT Center merch sales proved to be a good motivator in addressing that oversight.

I think it’s important to understand that most of us criticize Disney because we love the company and want them to do better. We don’t do it because it’s fun to hate on things.

It’s not disrespectful at all. Please tell me what masterpiece tdo has done recently? Rivers of light? Halloween fireworks? I personally think HEA is a big miss they just have a huge pyro budget so naturally it looks good.
The last thing TDO did that I thought was really good was the sadly temporary Star Wars fireworks at studios... that was good.

It’s weird trying to understand who the show fully caters to? Anyone who isn’t an EPCOT Center fan will hear songs like “Magic Journey’s” and “Making Memories” and wonder what the heck is this? Those who are super fans and enjoy those songs will be fine until they hear the end and then be like what the actual hell. At the end of the day Disney wants people in that park because they know those festivals make money and just throwing randomness to the wall wasn’t working hence how we now have this new plan. Yet nostalgia is so powerful that they know EPCOT Center fans will gobble anything from the past whether it be merch or a new show. They don’t give a damn about the OG EPCOT Center they care about all the fans who will buy their retro figment merch and eat the food.

And- people pay a lot of money to go on these trips- pay more get less-especially those whom are trying to hang in there and keep the faith that we all just dont get the big picture of these actions Disney has taken.
I agree SWW and Frozen Fireworks at DHS were Awesome IT WOULD BE NICE if DHS found a way to do High Pyro again!
But HEA a miss?????? Really???? EF is not a miss Either!!!!

“Hundreds of hardworking people“ make terrible movies, TV shows, and games too—unless you want to pretend that, say, a knockoff version of Snow White is just as good as Walt’s classic.
Sometimes the leadership doesn’t care about quality, and they’re just trying to push something to make money. There’s plenty of cynicism involved, but I’d say it starts with the execs who think anyone will show up and love it just because it’s Disney, not with the fans who love the company’s heritage and hope for something new that builds upon it.
Sorry but there's no way you can look at a show like Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, World of Color or even HEA, then look at this show and even think its even in the same league. From the cheap off-the-shelf fireworks, to the loud jet skis pulling kites as if its some groundbreaking effect (which cause the show to grind to a halt twice) to the music literally sung by pre-schoolers - the show is disrespectful to anybody with discerning taste, let alone fans of Epcot. Have the people who designed this show ever even been to Epcot? It's embarrassing.
By your logic there are hundreds of good working people at 20th Century Fox, whom we should never criticize, even when they put out movies like Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (a real movie) or a dreadful reboot of The Three Stooges - even though they are capable of putting out amazing films like Avatar, Lincoln or the first Star Wars.

The kites are the only redeeming factor in the show
I thought they were cool, but if used in conjunction with other effects. As is it just seems like it effects the pacing, since that's the only thing going on. Plus they seem very low-tech, with the loud wave runners driving them around.

This where the RoE fountain barges are sorely missed. Epcot Forever would benefit immensely from similar fountains or (and I can't believe I'm saying this because I've never really liked them) water projection screens. Understandably they can't have high level pyro exploding while the jet skis and kites are whizzing around, but it'd be nice if there was something else going on in the center of the lagoon.
Found this video on Youtube from what looks like the October 2nd show. It does an excellent job of capturing a lot of the laser effects.

Could there be more pyro? Sure. Could the music flow better? Sure. But I don't necessarily think this is the worst show in the history of anything. I only caught the livestream, but I found it pretty enjoyable up until...well, you know.
