Disney CMs live a challenging life. Still Disney offers some perks and just fun.

On National Yoga Day Disney opened the MK to the CMs before the castle while it was still dark. At barely dawn the fun began before the castle emerging before the sunrise. Yoga mats out. The fireworks viewing area was filled with CMs ready to Yoga before the Castle at sunrise.

For me very heartwarming. A young woman I knew from a previous website I played on and have kept in touch with here and there over many years. She while being in college was a college program student. Returning with her families overwhelming support AFTER she graduated college just like my DS. Both her parents like me insisted they graduate before they followed their Disney Dreams as advancement required such. I've come to know this young woman now since she was 14 years old on our Random Thoughts thread on a defunct forum. Actually at last count there are at least 27 of us here on this site following and lurking site and many this thread. Likely more given it was once a very popular site. I keep in touch with several dozen from that old site, meeting so many in person like I'm starting to here also.

While being an AARP woman I've watched 7 young teens move onto some awesome roles at Disney after they actually graduated college like my DS did prior to them. This young lady in the photo is near and dear to my heart. A struggle to become a CP and then beloved by Disney. She is awesome. Beyond awesome in her love of Disney, her dedication to her education and with the support of her family her return to WDW as a college educated adult climbing the corporate ladder. 14 to early 20's A long experiment of cyber friends to adulthood. Follow Disney history and you find many who went from ice cream scooper to Disney legend. Dream.

She is awesome.

I was in DC when I was 17... that was enough for me... but I don't think hubby has been there... however... New Orleans this year was for him... next will have to be somewhere for both of us.

Many years ago, I went to D.C. and loved it. There were so many interesting places to visit. My only complaint was the HEAT! Ugh! Went in June (with a few people) and thought we were going to pass out. It was the only place I've ever been to, that we actually took a taxi for any distances, up to 3 blocks -- yup, it was THAT hot and humid! :jawdrop:

So today was possibly/probably the last time I'll see my Grandma. She's much worse than the last time I saw her; she can barely put words together. It was like listening to a baby try to talk for the first time.

I'm very grateful to be well into my 40's and she's still here. She was still completely instrumental in my life until a few years ago. (When Grandpa died, she went downhill.) She has been literally *the* most important and consistent person in my life from day one.

But after a few minutes, she did recognize me. She was able to give me a kiss before I left. I said, "I love you" and she said, "awww" and smiled and nodded.

That's enough. 💓

It was the end of your post (in particular), that touched my heart. Years from now, you'll think about her, and that "awww" will bring a smile to your face. You're a good grandson. :inlove:

Remember these? My grandmother and my mother always had these out for the 4th -- pinwheels. To this day, I haven't a clue what pinwheels had to do with the 4th, but we'd sit out in the backyard and let the wind spin them. (Maybe they had pinwheels, when the founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence?) ;)

Sending many {{HUGS}} my friend, I'm glad God smiled upon both of you and she remembered you while you were able to visit xoxo

Smithsonian is the best part of DC. Though honestly, I've never understood why people who aren't from here are so infatuated with DC. Out of the cities that I've been to, it has the least amount of character. The history and the architecture are neat, but you don't need to spend more than a few days there. I personally like Philly much more, and I'd love to do NYC.
I believe you think that way because you missed the National Geographic exhibit on cats;) My boys like the Bureau of Engraving and Printing

Maybe they used them as pen toppers to sign the Declaration of Independence! 😀

My sister in law and the kids are going to come up for a couple days. We're going to walk down to the town parade in the early afternoon, then we'll catch the street festival and fireworks in the evening. And this weekend we're going to go to a friends party on the lake with more fireworks and music and food. A is super excited about "America's birthday" and has all her clothes for everything picked out already
Sounds like a perfect day! One of my sil’s cane to visit. We are going to go to a restaurant that actually has some healthy vegan options for me and options for those not vegan. Then we will watch the town fireworks from our back deck.

We have new neighbors down the road and across the alley. Boy is about 8 years old. They have a Puppy that I've been dying to meet, he looks about 10 months old, fully grown in height but still has sea legs and chest spreading to go. I see him playing in the yard of a home they have rented, they have a stake in the ground with a very long lead, long enough to play tennis ball. The home is on the corner catty-corner to this building. There are only three homes per block, each lot about 300 feet wide and about 180 feet deep. Lots of land for a Pup to Play. Several acres.

Story:
I'm on the deck having my coffee this morning watching the boy and Pup play ball. Pup slips his collar and FREEDOM. I watched for about 5 minutes and the dog is running around 3 homes. Front and back yards as nobody is allowed fences (another story) When the boy would almost reach him Pup would bolt again to the opposite end house. The Mom came out but she was useless. GET HIM isn't a useful suggestion to a boy running in circles and the Pup is enjoying the freedom and fun of being chased. I was reliving my memories of my Walter Pup and son chasing my Walter Pup around our fenced yard and repeat many years ago now. (for those of you unaware Walter passed a few years ago, my heart and soul)

Finally I get up and walk to the property line and watch the boy tiring and not the Pup. Mom still yelling get him. When Pup was about 50 feet from me but even I squatted down and the Pup spied me and in my best Ditsy voice I could invent I said Hiiiiiiiii and continued to talk to the Pup as he stopped running and I said come here pretty pup. And he did. Petted his head and grabbed him by the scruff of his neck. The boy was so grateful thanking me over and over. I ask him what the Pups name is. Walter he said. My heart just melted. 💞💞💞
Awwww......what kind of pup is he?? Did you tear up? I think I would have been.
