I’ve been super stressed about about a bunch of stuff… New Med rules preventing DH from getting his meds, Jury Duty for right when I go to New Orleans next month, and a disability review for Scott.
2 out of 3 are resolved. Pharmacy was able to get insurance companies approval, assuring them that Scott has been on these opioids for years, and he’s not niave. Wrote a letter including my flight and hotel information, and Jury Duty deferred until April. Just the disability review left, and we probably won’t hear anything on that for month… it’s hard to lose disability once you have it. So fingers crossed.
I walked by their store in the Mall today. I noticed that they had some small signs in the windows. All the signs said is that from today on they were unable to accept checks or Credit Cards. I took that to mean they they are going bye - bye!I was in a good mood until I saw this.

No checks I get, but no credit cards? Many people don’t carry cash anymore. The website accepts credit cards though. Weird. Guess they want to pay as few fees as possible.I walked by their store in the Mall today. I noticed that they had some small signs in the windows. I thought that was odd as well, but, that is what I read. It was locally generated so it might have been an error. It doesn't leave much except cash and beads. Maybe they couldn't pay their internet connection to use the cards. No checks I get, but no credit cards? Many people don’t carry cash anymore. The website accepts credit cards though. Weird. I think because I just read the online shop may be saved. Just posted a clip from an article I read.I thought that was odd as well, but, that is what I read. Barter is great. My dh does that with his business sometimes. Both parties get benefitted.Sometimes I wish we'd go back to the days of barter. ( It's still practiced on a limited basis with various individuals and maybe some small businesses.)
Years ago, one of my brothers (who does carpentry) needed some dental work done, but his bank account was really low. He asked the dentist if there was anything he could do to help defray the cost. He noticed that the dental office had a carp sign out front (so people could see it from the street). He told the dentist that he could make him a beautifully carved, custom sign, in exchange for dental work. He agreed, and it was a solution that served both sides equally well.![]()
I'm showing my age by remembering this intro when I was a kid:Some of us were not around in 83 ...
Sorry you have been so stressed, looks like things are working out. I hope things will continue to go better.![]()
I hope you have a guest room. I might have to skip town, as I feel like I am going crazy with the stupid weather.
i know my experience is only anecdotal, but it really is the perfect age to take them. Not only can they vocalize their memories for months and months and months, they can vocalize what they need while you're there as well. You're just at the mercy of your intuition when they're one.
