I walked by their store in the Mall today. I noticed that they had some small signs in the windows. All the signs said is that from today on they were unable to accept checks or Credit Cards. I took that to mean they they are going bye - bye!

I gave up on the bubble long ago
Both are good options, just depending upon what you feel like doing. I prefer the bubble experience; and for the shorter vacations I take, that also works best in terms of quicker access to the parks.
But years ago, I stayed off site all the time, and could add maybe 2 more days to the trip. But the off-site buses didn't run often; and the few times I rented a car, I got nervous driving because I didn't know the roads or the area. Hence, the bubble vacation works better in my case.

No checks I get, but no credit cards? Many people don’t carry cash anymore. The website accepts credit cards though. Weird. Guess they want to pay as few fees as possible.

I thought that was odd as well, but, that is what I read. It was locally generated so it might have been an error. It doesn't leave much except cash and beads. Maybe they couldn't pay their internet connection to use the cards.

Sometimes I wish we'd go back to the days of barter. ( It's still practiced on a limited basis with various individuals and maybe some small businesses.)
Years ago, one of my brothers (who does carpentry) needed some dental work done, but his bank account was really low. He asked the dentist if there was anything he could do to help defray the cost. He noticed that the dental office had a carp sign out front (so people could see it from the street). He told the dentist that he could make him a beautifully carved, custom sign, in exchange for dental work. He agreed, and it was a solution that served both sides equally well.

I did more digging and found an article explaining what was going to happen with Gymboree. @Tuvalu Unless I am reading it wrong it seems that the intellectual property and the online shop will be bought by Goldman Sachs. So possibly in the future the online shop will return. In the same article it discussed the bankruptcy of Shopco and also Sears. Seems Sears is going to be saved.

So tonight, my mom and I were out, with me driving. I saw a bunch of cars stopped on the opposite side of the road, so I decided to slow down. Good thing I did, because one of the cars had hit a deer, and the deer stumbled out in front of my car. I slammed on the brakes and did not hit the deer, but the deer stumbled and ended up hitting my car. Thankfully, I didn't have any damage other than some gross deer hair on the side of the car.
But wait, this gets better....
We came home thinking great, gotta tell Dad we were hit by a deer (and it was that way, I was sitting still). We came home and tell my dad, "We were hit by a deer." And he said, "Oh, well, I hit a deer."
Turns out that the car that hit the deer was his car, and it pinballed off and hit my car. It was the same spot at the same time, and he knew that there was a car in the opposite lane. He just didn't pick up on the fact that it was my car because, well, there's a ton of silver Honda Civics on the road, and he thought my mom would drive. We've got a new idea for a Farmer's commercial: Deer pinball.
Neither of us has any damage. But my car is going to the car wash tomorrow.

For those that go once a year or more already, as soon as baby comes along, they’re just automatically looped in.
We aren’t, and never have been, those people.
Especially with the cost these days.
As you know, we’ve already done 2 recent week-long Carnival cruises within 6 mos. of each other that, together, cost into 4 figures less than this WDW bubble trip woulda’ cost us.
Again, and yes, we’ll also gladly and happily wait to drop that kinda’ jack when our dear little Emy can get all excited for the Magic and have some of her own memories...!!!!!
