@Songbird76 I was thinking about your trip dilemma and would it be possible to do Universal first? I know it might not be because of the other family that is coming with you. But you could rent a car and go to Universal first then return the car to the airport and take Magical Express to Disney. Then of course Magical Express back to the airport. If you did ME this way, with the return of the rental car all you have to do is find a flight number that comes in at the time you want to be returning your car and reserve with that flight arrival number and of course give your real departure one. I have done this and it worked fine in fact we arrived almost an hour after the flight arrival time I gave and it was all okay. This doesn't solve the Polynesian problem but it would solve some back and forth between Disney and Universal. But perhaps it wouldn't work with all the groups you have involved.
Nope, we can't. The kids' last day of school is July 19th, so we're already coming as soon as we possibly can and my 2 of my cousin's group are teachers and it's actually LATE for them. So we HAVE to do Disney first. Thank you, though...it was a great suggestion, and if it was just us, I would certainly have done that.

When I started planning this trip, I didn't know my cousins were looking at a trip too. I chose 2019 because our region has the latest vacation block that year. It rotates...there are 3 blocks of vacation starting the 2nd full week in July, 3rd week in July, and 4th week in July. It rotates every year or 2...so this year, we were the middle block, next year is the last block. So I thought we'd come later and it would be less busy and maybe a bit cheaper.

Then my cousin's daughter read something on my Facebook about our plans when I commented on somebody else's timeline who was asking for advice for Universal, so she sent me a message and said we should coordinate. We so rarely get to see each other, and we're a pretty close-knit family. They came out in 2016 to do South Dakota with us, and 2 of them traveled from Illinois to Wyoming for my brother's wedding in 2010....we visited them on the way to Carnegie Hall when I sang there in 1998. It's just hard to get together, living so far apart...so we have to take advantage of it when we can. So I changed the plans a bit to accommodate their schedules, and they changed their plans a bit to accommodate ours. I'm really excited to see them, and to get to share Disney with all of them and my niece. I know we will have a great trip, no matter how we work it out just because we will get to spend time together. I guess I just need to focus on that.

And I told him I want to go to Disney for our 25th anniversary...maybe we can rent DVC points then and stay at the Poly. We won't have the kids with us for that trip, so the free dining won't be as much of a savings as it is right now, so renting points might be cheaper. Me thinks it's time for me to dive into more research....it's what I do. It makes me feel better.

We didn't stay there but did go over for dinner and a bit of exploring and found it lovely and a bit quieter than Poly
Quieter sounds good. I was going to go look for pictures last night, but I forgot they were doing maintenance on the internet here last night and I was in the middle of my last post and the internet was turned off. So I guess I have work to do this morning! I will look at some reviews and such. Thanks!

There were a lot of Latter Day Saint commercials when I was growing up. You must have seen those. I think they were national. Here is one and I actually was friends with the little boy in the commercial. Funny thing about it is he was orthodox Jewish.

I don't think I ever saw that one, but I remember the "Isn't it about....time?" ones. Most of them were "Family. Isn't it about time?" but there were some others, too....I remember an anti-bullying one. They were all LDS commercials. And they also had ads for the Book of Mormon. One of my brother's friends ordered it because she was a catholic Sunday school teacher and liked to be able to answer questions about other religions/denominations, so she read up on all of them. But when she ordered the Book of Mormon, they actually sent missionaries to her house to deliver it and sit down and talk about it with her.

Oh, I was asking for suggestions where to rent.

But I do not think she bought either lol, the prices are insane (speculation is still somewhat rampant) XD
Right, but I meant that my friend might know someone who rents out places, or know a reputable rental company. But she'd need to know where you are looking and what you are looking to rent....house, apartment? How many bedrooms? Which part of the city? Distance from a particular business? Budget? I was just saying she was going to buy an apartment to rent out, and I could ask her if it was available, but I don't think she ever actually bought it.

In that case my plan would work. End your trip at UNI and taxi to the airport. You'll only need the car for your off days. With the money you save you'll be able to guilt him into Poly for your 25th;)

After watching that video, I'm so much more excited about the Royal Pacific! DD is, too. So I think we'll be ok with that...nice pool, nice landscaping...the rooms don't look quite as nice to me, but as we won't be spending a whole lot of time in there, it doesn't matter as much. Thank you all for the feedback and support...and @figmentfan423 , thank you for the use of the frying pan. I'll send it back ASAP!

You go girl!!! And I'll bet just getting out and doing a few things for yourself will make you feel refreshed, and even happier then to devote the rest of your (available) time to A!

Being able to run again and go to the gym has been amazing. I feel much better when I'm with A because I feel stronger and healthier. You're totally right!

You're welcome and keep the frying pan with your luggage. Shipping will be cheaper from this side of the pond and I have a feeling you may need it a few times before and maybe even during your trip. Don't worry I have a few extra;)
