Yes it was a yellow peony. I was surprised by the color too, I hadn't seen a yellow one before. The arboretum is run by the University of Minnesota and they do a lot of research with their plants so perhaps it is part of their research.

Texas A&M University does very much the same.

Unfortunately no. In California there are automatic restraining orders so I can't remove him until the divorce is finalized.

The thing that gets me is that he has purchased 2 pop-up campers, paddleboards/recreational equipment, and just recently a $1699 fitness bike (based on his own negative Yelp review where he complained that the seller didn't tell him it didn't have Bluetooth ), but he told the judge that he's broke and can't afford his lawyer anymore. Plus, he keeps claiming that I'm independently wealthy. Right, like I just work for fun.

It is an affront to poor donkeys to be associated with him anymore...he's a dirtbag...and, as far as I know, bags of dirt can't be offended...!

That looks like fun. It's interesting how laws vary from state to state on this type of gaming (even for fun). I recall some years ago that a local church wanted to have some of these types of games for a Vegas night--which would be a fund-raiser for the church. Cops told them in no uncertain terms that they could not give cash for winners. In MA, it's legal to give a PRIZE (such as a TV for example), but no money. (Think it has something to do with the tax code.)

Way back when, DWifey and myself used to work the "Wine Wheel" at our church festival every Sept. for a coupla' hours. We gave away a donated bottle of wine every spin of the wheel...!!!!!

Ha! Key word- narcissist. He is such a huge one. They actually had therapy and the therapist said he was one. He takes responsibility for nothing. He blames everything on her. He bad talks about her to the kids. He is actually still living in the house!!! He thinks it is fine to do that and even suggested they should keep it that way even after the divorce is finalized!!! The whole situation is just a mess.

It does, indeed.
It was drilled only about 6-7 years ago.
They will also, eventually, drill on another back portion of the 250 acre farm. The rest of the farmland is leased and farmed by one of the farmer neighbors, and a longtime family friend.
And, there is also a producing well on a second piece of farmland that my moms side of the family dosen't own anymore, but, had the good sense to keep the mineral rights to when they sold it.
My folks are no Ewings, but, it's not chump change either.

I had just seen some news about Mexico's elections being today, and was concerned about the quake issue. Not good timing for this.

Quake wasn't bad, the elections might get violent.
Lots of cheating.. but supposedly the popular candidate from the left finally won over the corrupt ruling party(centrist) and the challenger of the conservative party.
There are big groups who hate the new winner (who is like Bernie Sanders)

Speaking of Weather, supposedly it is 29C on average.. but with a staggering thermal feel of 36C, thats 7C difference thanks to huge humidity levels and possible storms.

Although, for us, it definitely all happened a bit different than that...
I was told when I was a kiddo that there was oil down there, but, was also told that we, plus our children, and maybe even our grandchildren wouldn't see it, as the tech to be worth going that deep was many, many decades away.
Fast forward through the exponentiallity of certain technologies over the last 4.5-ish decades....and, voila...!!!

CarMax almost always gives a little more for trade ins.. they can move their cars around the entire country where the type of vehicle may have a better market.
However, CarMax does NOT negotiate on their prices when you buy a car from them.
This, combined with nationwide, allows them to pay more for trades...because their profit is already built into the sale, every sale. CarMax has a brilliant marketing strategy, but it’s not as consumer friendly as it sounds from their adverts.
The Honda dealer did discount their car, and your trade in won’t be a retail unit for them, so there’s not a lot of leverage that you have in this scenario, that’s not being unfair to you, it’s just being fair to both of you.
They may give in just to be done with it, or they may just tell you “no” because the sale is no longer worth it to them. You’ll have to decide if they’re deserving of your business. It sounds like they’ve done a lot to earn it.

I’ll add an edit here and say - if you want to see what CarMax will give- as a purchase from you, not a trade in.. just sell the car to them if they’ll give you more... the amount they’re willing to purchase your car for, without buying one of theirs, is the only thing that’s relevant to your scenario.
