Cost Estimate For All These Projects?

Details about Nintendo, a new Harry ride (the Forest thing?) and the third theme park (VB is a water park) is all I can think of that would come anywhere near close to what has been and what will be announced for Disney. Their best bet to counter everything is a third theme park by 2021 (they have four years ...) ... which is good news for theme park fans like us. One causes the other to continue stepping it up.

The difference is, with scant exceptions, Universal seems to get way more for its dollar than Disney does.

I can't recall (I'm sure someone else will) but the number for Hogsmeade seemed astronomically low - like the whole land plus FJ cost basically the same as 7DMT or something crazy like that.

I'm sure they do. It's ridiculous.

But most don't look at it like that.

I don't like or dislike something based on how much was spent.

Potter was a pheneonemal shot in the arm for Universal but they really haven't been able to match it yet. I'm patiently waiting for my Nintendo land where I'll move in and pitch a tent and never leave.

Meanwhile, Pandora ticks up the attendance at AK and many thought it would bomb.

Star Wars is going to be ridiculous for both parks.

I think Jurassic COULD compete with Nintendo but I think Nintendo would be the bigger draw. We often put our own likes and dislikes into what we think will be popular. Jurassic is definitely untapped and I'd love more of it. But Nintendo is what Universal needs to bet on and do right. Jurassic is a very close second.

I also think they could use a few Dreamworks properties better. They need to give it a rest with the high thrills and go for a few more family friendly attractions.

I would say Middle earth and star trek are in that list as well

If we are talking universal I’d say their horror IPs are something they could do a lot with rather than just halloween stuff and they could expand their monster presence in the parks to include godzilla and the rest (this could work well in Japan). DCs comic characters could be handed better in parks as could snoopy (again this could be big in Japan) and there are lots of dreamworks or blue sky IP (kung fu panda, Madagascar, ice age etc) which could be used. Lastly game of thrones could make a whole range of immersive worlds to rival big hitters like potter or star wars.

The above is just a list of ideas not based on rights etc just things i think would work well in a park setting

Imagine DAK but without the live animals. And then dinosaurs and dinosaur attractions everywhere. Think of all the great E-Ticket rides but re-skinned for dinosaurs...

It'd be huge.

They could go way above Avatar with this IP and make it the level of SW:GE. On another note, can Universal use Godzilla IP in a theme park? I’m asking because of the Kong vs. Godzilla movie in the works.
