It can cost WDW next to nothing to enforce ---Hire one night security guard at minimum wage to walk the parking lot looking for cars without paper parking passes (issued at check in) with the date of arrival and the checkout date. Ticket, boot, tow cars without passes and those expired One guard 8 hour shift $100 All the rest of the parking fees profit.

Bezos, Page, Brin, and Zuckerberg will probably get it right.....sooner than we think.

All those guys probably saw Fritz Lang's Metropolis and thought to themselves "Hey, that's a pretty sweet place to live with the flying cars and androids and ivory towers" ignoring the fact that, you know, the workers lived in literal fire pits.

They don't give you that parking pass any more. I was told it was mainly for free parking in the parks.

We were there in May 2017 CBR and they issued a parking permit had to put it on the dash of my truck. When did they stop parking passes?
We havent been issued one in the last few trips (2018), which made me wonder how they enforce or even know which guests are supposed to pay fr parking?

I imagine the guard at the gatehouse indicates something in a computer when you first arrive - Guest Jones has a car. And resort staff will look at your reservation to see the type - DVC or cash, according to a manager I asked.

You honestly think Disney is going to "ticket, boot and tow" cars for families on vacation? Nothing says family vacation like a Minnievan ride to the impound lot.

Without doing a deep dive into analytics, it appears that the mods are increasing at an insane rate, comparatively.

4 years ago we stayed at YC for I believe right around $300/night over the summer. Right now, that rate is about $350. A modest 17%1.
Below is the average published rate increase for the last few years:

The parking fee won't affect these but will increase the Per Room Guest Spending (PRGS) metric that Disney reports quarterly.

Wow, I did think it was crazy when I just recently booked an AP rate at Pop for $150/night. This shows just how huge the increases have become.

It seems there are some really good deals out there. With NO resort or parking fees.

HUGE Savings! Get up to 50% Off Rates at Sheraton Vistana Villages and up to 41% Off at Sheraton Vistana Resort for a 2-Bedroom Villa!
Get super low rates of up to 50% off (sale rates start at around $124/night) for a spacious 2-bedroom villa that sleeps up to 8 at Sheraton Vistana Villages, and up to 41% off rates at Sheraton Vistana Resort (sale rates start at around $127/night) for a 2-bedroom that sleeps 6 or 8* during select dates now through December 20, 2018 with this MouseSavers exclusive offer! These Sheraton resorts near Walt Disney World in Orlando have no resort fees, and parking and Wi-Fi are FREE! You must book this offer by May 25, 2018, but hurry! Availability at these rates is limited! This offer requires full prepayment and is non-refundable. See additional details below.**

Sheraton Vistana Villages and the Sheraton Vistana Resort are two very popular additions to the MouseSavers Preferred Hotels program. We are very impressed by the exceptional value both of these resorts offer, with their 1- and 2-bedroom fully-furnished condominium-style villas, lovely grounds and elaborate pools with whimsical water features. Once you’ve settled in, there is a feeling of being in a relaxed resort oasis, with all the comforts of a home away from home.

Sheraton Vistana Resort, located very close to the Walt Disney World Parks, is a much larger resort with 7 swimming pools and several restaurants and dining options. 2-bedroom Villas accommodate up to 6 or 8* guests. Sheraton Vistana Villages is a few minutes further from the Disney parks, but the rooms are slightly larger; 2-bedroom Villas accommodate up to 8 guests at this resort.
If you are used to staying in a standard hotel room, you will find that the amenities of a villa make your stay even more enjoyable. A villa gives you space to spread out, bedroom privacy, and the ability to prepare your own food. Combining the comforts of home with the atmosphere of a luxurious resort helps make a vacation truly relaxing. The cost is about the same as a moderately-priced hotel, but you get much more — plus there are no resort fees and parking and Wi-Fi are FREE!

That ad would never be an advantage for me. I cancel/change dates/have things come up way too often to book a non refundable vacation, anywhere.
