Thank you! Thank you! Thank YOU for your answers!!! They leave tonight, my sis is on her way to pick up her new car, then pack, then they’re surprising the kids with the new car, totally packed to leave for a vacay that they don’t know about. I’m trying to find out info for her in the meantime.
They’re going to tell the kids that they’re going to Clearwater (they have a condo there so kids go often).. but they’re going to Disney first, not telling the kids about that until arrival.

If they have a car they can drive to Poly and park there for free for dinner

It’s breakfast so they can’t. Even if they could get away with it it’s one of biggest pet peeeves at Disney, so I won’t recommend it.lol
I've gotten into TCC at 5am. You can get through the gate about 3 hours before park opening, You can get though the main drive through 24/7 because you have to go through to get to a couple of resorts

Will the monorail be open at 7am?

Yay! Thanks!!

7:30am. The plan is to drop off luggage at bell services beforehand, room won’t be ready yet but the kids can at least see the lobby, they’ll meet the rest of their party at that time. Then head to breakfast... stay at MK until closing and then go to room.

I can’t remember the luggage policy, do they have to be in the room for it to be delivered? I know I had to be in 2015.. I just don’t know if that was for luggage from the ME or the carry-ons that I dropped off at Bell Services.

Let us know what happens!!! Love hearing 1st time stories!! ❤️
It’s going to go one of two ways..

They made the reservations in September or so.. they were going to book a Poly theme park view room based on my recommendation... decided AGAINST my advice, to book AKL Savanna View for a lot less.

Around 60 days ago I asked my sis if she had booked her dining yet, and if she chose her FP selections to book the next day. Her response “I planned on doing all of that a month before”
I freaked out, went to her house, we chose selections.

She then asked me to make spreadsheets, give QS and Snack recommendations..and any other “tips”.. and then she’d review it all on the drive there. :hilarious:

She hasn’t been since 2001 and doesn’t have a clue of what’s in the parks now. Husband hasn’t been since he was 8 years old.

They’re planning to be at parks at rope drop and stay til closing.. 1.5 Resort days in the mix.

As of one hour ago she still hasn’t looked under the “parks” section of the website.:hilarious::hilarious:

So.. I’m wishing them the best. I think they’ll be ok.. but I’m sending general tips/advice in an email in the event that she forgets everything I said.

I know. I hope it’s a great one! The plus side is pretty much everyone in our family goes annually, so she’s seen plenty of trips on FB and talked about at family parties. So she’s not going in totally blind.

My sister is not a big Disney person, so they don’t plan on going back for many years, they definitely want this to be a great experience for the kids.

The only thing I’m really concerned about is their resort. I just wouldn’t have picked AKL due to the distance and inconvenience to the parks. But too late now.. and it does look beautiful!

It is gorgeous and quiet. We’ve never stayed there but always go over and eat at Sanaa for lunch. Hope they love it!
