I started pricing out a trip to Fort Wilderness Campgrounds in September. I think buying this a-frame camper might actually make more frequent Disney trips an option. Of course, it would highly depend on the kid not getting sick a whole ton so I can make it to the end of the year with vacation days to spare for this

But five nights for only $380 (incl. tax) is not bad at all. roughly $400 in gas there and back, plus a campground to sleep in at the halfway point, plus park tickets.... the park tickets are really the expensive part.

Yep. It is the park tickets that always gets you. Hotels are the cheap part. That is why when we get AP's we really try and take advantage of them. We probably won't be renewing for the coming year, or not all of them anyway. May just renew 1 to take advantage of discounts, including the shopping app AP discounts.

That photopass/memory maker is a nice benefit. And your pics in your MDE account won't have the watermark, so you can download them and print them yourself.

Yeah, AP discount has now dropped back to 10%. But better than nothing.

THNX for asking. Just tired. Cough and sneezing isn't too bad, then again I'm living on a honey, garlic, lemon combo and an herbal tea for colds that always seems to work for me. Dh had been on commercial stuff and was much worse when he had it

I am hoping that my daily mega vitamin doses keep me from getting ill this cold and flu season. If I make it to Spring with nothing then I well gloat about my regimen. Until then, mums the word. (Not the British mum.)

Oh good grief, no. About $770 for the platinum, $870 for the platinum plus (includes water parks).

Mine was $550 with the DVC discount. I'll get 3 10 day trips out of it. If you make enough trips and plan it right, definitely a good deal.

Oh @dryerlintfan I think I remembered you paid for memory maker last time. That's included with an AP. A lot of the food places also give you a 10% discount as well. Well worth looking into if you're planning to go enough.

So it looks like if we go for a week this year (Sep 16-22) and a week next year (Sep 8-14), and get five day park hoppers and memory maker.... the AP would save us around $550 not including food and merch discounts. Which would pay for tickets for the husband if he decides to go the second time around.

But that would mean we would definitely have to go twice for it to be worthwhile.

Believe it or not, our trip over MLK was the very first time I've not purchased anything at Disney, other than meals. I know.

I booked the trip. Worst case scenario I can cancel later on and get my $40 back. So... potential mommy/daughter Disney camping trip: September 16-21

Yes. You get magicbands at the campground.

Not yet!! We picked out the camper we want. My husband is currently at a convention in Las Vegas though, so we have to wait for him to get back to figure out logistics of actually going to get it. In the meantime, I've been Pinteresting pop-up camper modifications to maximize storage on it

It's an interesting question! In the traditional sense, you have to obviously pick up after yourself. Pack in, pack out. But they do have a huge mousekeeping staff on property in charge of keeping the bathrooms and other comfort amenities clean and stocked.

This convention would be super duper boring to me. And I'd miss my little girl. I'm sure one of these years I'll join him out there for the last day or two of the convention, but I'm not really in a hurry for that, LOL

The Cabins have daily mousekeeping. They do a great job. The bathrooms at the comfort stations are super clean, as are the bathrooms by the pool. We never needed to shower there since we had a cabin, but I wouldn't be afraid to use them seeing how clean they are kept.

That's because there's no natural remedy for the man flu...... Haven't you heard that when a man has a common cold he goes through as much discomfort as we do in childbirth?!

OK, I can't actually say what it feels like to have a baby. Even my being present, right next to her, in the delivery room for my two daughters can't confirm anything either since I felt nothing and have been up-close and personal twice.

But careful examinations of the after affects of both a man cold and childbirth seem to be quite influential in determining the seriousness of the situation. I can vouch for the fact that I avoid ever catching a cold because they are awful and I know better then to want to ever have one again, while, it seems fairly universal that women will have babies over and over and over again. If it were that bad, I'm thinking that one would be the limit for anyone with a memory and we all can agree that women never forget any bad thing that ever happened to them. That's all I have to say about that. Case closed!
