i could never pick SFMM or USH over DCA.
SFMM is fun because of its thrills but the place always feels unsafe and dirty and hate buying any food their worrying i will get sick. USH is much better but i always find myself finishing my day there early and then find nothing interesting to do and for some reason i never felt the urge to just sit and relax in USH and people watch which is something i could do at DCA while sipping some wine or having a cocktail

When was the last time you were at SFMM? I wouldn't call it unsafe or even dirty. In fact, it's cleaner than most of DLR. I do wish they would process people through lines faster and I wish they had more food choices like DL has.

I have noticed that both SFMM and Knott's pretty much have a restroom attendant working inside of them all the time, and not as much so at the DLR.

Both parks heard the guests comments over the years, and have addressed the problem. A lot have changed in the last ten years.

I’ve been visiting Magic Mountain since childhood. I’ve never felt unsafe during my visits.

I agree about USH, I’ve people-watched there as well. After a visit, we usually head to CityWalk or Bob’s Big Boy a few minutes away for dinner.

After my recent trip to six flags and universal I did not get sick, where I do if I go to disneyland and dca.
I think I found which park is more unsanitary.
Also Universal is only one day if you get the front of line passes like my family does. I'm sure it may be more than one if we hadn't.

I'm going to go on record and say that I generally avoid most theme parks like Six Flags and festival marketplaces such as Universal Citywalk. Disney resorts are the exception, along with a few others like Ocean Park in Hong Kong and Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. I mostly find theme parks, like suburban shopping malls, cruise ships, Olive Garden, and Las Vegas, to be awful places to spend my time.

Oh gosh, as a SFMM regular, the place is safe, clean and has great tasting food. Never had any issues there. Also, the food options have gotten a lot better in the last few years. Heck, they don't offer Chipotle food, or a Captain Kidd's Buffet.

My favorites include the hand battered fish and chips, the chicken wings, tri-tip sandwiches and others, and since I have a meal plan, I basically eat for free while at the park.

Yesterday at Knott's, with my meal plan, I got the Honey Walnut Shrimp from Panda Express and a Flank Steak Sandwich. $27 worth of food, and I pay less than $10 a month for the plan. And since I go once a week, it is great, almost had the holiday Dinner Pizza.

There is plenty to do at USH, in fact for some it is now a two day park, if you watch every show, and visit every major attraction. As for People Watching, have done that multiple times. USH has multiple bars where you can get a cocktail and just relax.

I’m sure sfmm Is safe but it doesn’t give that vibemaybe because i have been there when unsettling things have happened including the time they rioted and looted stores several years back.

USH could go either way but it’s not a place I find the desire to visit more than once every five or so years. For some reason even out of the country friends that visit say they have no desire to go when they come every other year because everytime we have gone we end up with nothing to do and just leave. One time we did the simpsons 6 times an de the tram tour twice. Didn’t really care for transformers we had a ten minute wait and had no desire of doing it again but that’s just personal taste

You do realize that was in 1993. Almost 25 years ago. A lot has changed in that time. Heck do you feel safe going to Disneyland with that BTMRR train derailment and Mark Twain cleat deaths due to poor maintenance? What about the huge crowds that could riot at any time? The same type of people that your afraid of at MM are at Disneyland too.

And I have been in touch with Nancy Luna on the McDonalds angle. She had a major story that went national this week with the addition of Hot Chocolate to In-n-Out. (And its Ghirardelli ). Plus the fact that Taco Bell will be serving fries in the near future. But she is working on the lead.

yeah that incident was quite a few years ago and have been to the park recently but i always get that feel of unsecurity. I do have fun though and only brought it up because i said i would never pick SFMM over DCA.

Hopefully i get a chance to go to the parks this weekend so i can get one last ride on Screamin before its big change. i have a pass but onyl go once a month so will be interesting to see how fast the changes happen but first vacation trip to Norway

It just goes to show that there are better rides outside the Mouse's domain. It's just difficult to convince the wdw fan boys of that. There is more to the world than a Disney park.

As a wdw fan, I'm more impressed with Efteling located in Holland because of how well themed the park is including the hotel. Special mention goes Baron 1898, Symbolic, De Vliegende Hollander, and Villa Volta.

Thank you Darkbeer, I will check it out, not sure if I will do theme park since I’m staying with friends that live there and they don’t do amusement parks but hopefully I have time on my own

I went to Universal, and Disneyland/DCA and didn't get sick from either. So I guess they are both sparkling clean then.

Do you really think that Six Flags has more sanitizing regimens that they utilize daily keeping you from getting sick?

Doesn't Disneyland literally wash their streets every night?

Plus, just think of how many more thousands of people pour into Disneyland and DCA everyday. That's a lot of germs.

I'm sure that Disney has lots of sanitizing measures in place to try and keep germs at bay. But when you have 50,000 people walking around, there is only so much you can do.
