I have never heard of an Alexa....is it a service? Or is it a device?
Oh, you have been away from the US and our crazy products for too long, my friend.

It's basically Amazon's version of Siri, and they sell their Echo devices for your home so you can control stuff with your voice. You can order Amazon products, turn on the TV, change the channel, dim the lights, search for things online...I would like one just to reprogram it so I can say, "Computer! Turn on the lights." Like on Star Trek.

Good lord . . . the kid will turn 21 by the time they all stop falling over one another--talk about a ridiculous bureaucracy!!

I've lived this. It isn't pretty here in the states either. My salvation was Easter Seals. My pediatrician recommended them. They were not a one on one advocate but they gave me all the resources I needed to advocate for my DD when the school system kept trying not to IEP her at the age of 3 and push it off several years which is so harmful to development. It was a staffing issue.

Actually because of my DD they did have 1.5 speech therapists vs one which did remedy the problem. Still aggravating to deny kids solely because they didn't want to staff correctly. Budgets out of whack. Ultimately because of Easter Seals she did have early intervention. I thank my pediatrician for her success in overcoming all that because the school district was beyond indifferent to her needs back then. So over the pond or here I am continually amazed by the indifference of SOME educational districts. Frustrating. Shouldn't happen. They have too much power over which students they service and which they find loop holes to ignore. *very reason I became a school board member*
