It's really not the same, and I don't like Lindsey Lohan.
Totally agree. I hate remakes anyway. I always prefer the original. There usually is not reason to remake films. Did they really need to redo Freaky Friday? Hated the remake.
I went to one once and wasn't thrilled and the employees didn't seem friendly.
The one by me is huge. Employees are friendly enough. Guess they are different everywhere.

And now that we are speaking of the Original Parent Trap I'm going to have to pull it out soon and watch it again. The reboot of the Parent Trap is fine just not the same.
I grew up watching both and like both. My brother LOVES the newer one. I think he had a crush on young Lindsay Lohan when he was younger, and now he just likes it because it's funny.

I watched the older one over the summer. I kind of like the newer one better, but I love how sassy the original mother was. :hilarious:

My surgery actually went about as I expected. The only part of the procedure that made me uncomfortable was the hard bed/table that they have you lay on, and the cold water they kept applying to my eye during the procedure. Makes sense that some kind of cleansing process must happen to remove the old debri from the eye. Of course I am just guessing about the reasoning behind that. They also said that I had an irregular heartbeat during the procedure and they recommended that I follow up with a cardiologist appointment. I don't have a cardiologist, so I need to find one ASAP. I called my primary doctor about that very thing last night, and left her a message. I have a follow up appointment at the eye surgeon today. Not sure if this heart issue will delay my second surgery which was supposed to be in about two weeks. So I am now looking out of very badly sighted left eye, and partially covered surgically repaired right eye. Glasses were my key to happiness. "Making the best of it" is what I am practicing at the moment. Physically I feel fine. Thanks for all the good wishes and concerns. Love this thread.

We interrupt this program for a special announcement. We were at DD's school tonight for an informational presentation about choosing a high school and about the advice 6th graders get this year about which kind of school they should be looking at. The resource director is part of the team that decides on the advice for each kid, so she was there and she approached us afterwards and asked how DS is doing and said she had gotten an email today that the admittance committee approved his application and asked her to send his records so they can place him in the right level or something, but in any case he's approved to go to the special school! We haven't heard it from them yet, but I suppose that's because they needed info from her to put him in the correct class so they can give us all the information at once. And she asked when he can start and they said probably Monday. :D So relieved!!!!
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
Super awesome!

It's kind of funny (in an ironic way not ha ha funny) that your DD avoids the custard because of the nuts, those are the flavors I like best. I seem to hit the Flavor of the Day when it has berries. I only like berries in my margaritas!

We have a Portillos near us now (in Woodbury MN) and it is always packed. I like the sausage there.
I love the burgers. The Italian beef is also pretty good. DS loves the hot dogs, and finally talked me into trying one. It did not disappoint.:hungry:

I heard it this afternoon. I was too young really for Soap but loved Benson, he had such a dry sense of humor, I always enjoyed him. I genuinely liked Sports Night and his role he played on it but he had a stroke, it went on hiatus and they did bring Sports Night back and worked his stroke into his role, sadly the show just never hit its stride again after. He was such a bright and highly educated man and that really came through in his acting. He will be missed. :(
I remember Soap. Loved it so much, that last summer, I found the DVD'S at the library and watched with DS. Still, I am not sure how the same character jumped from butler to politics, but it didn't matter. Just great shows.

Well, we didn't hear anything. So DH called the new school...they said they get word from the parents, not the committee...they won't get word until WE tell them. Which is weird. So DH explains that the resource director at the old school said it had been approved and someone had called HER to get some information so they could place him in the right class. But, both the principal at the new school and the resource director who told us it had been approved are off on Wednesdays. So we can't get either one on the phone. So DH called the committee I think? and SHE said, yes it's been approved, but it has to go through the proper channels, so it will be next week at least before we get the official word. So he won't be starting next Monday. :banghead: So she confirmed that it's not a no, but we still have to play the waiting game for some reason.
Good grief, talk about hoops to jump through. Still, nice to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Hey, @figmentfan423 , remember when I said our hand egg season was done? Well, those lovely boys some how won the last away game. Play off game Saturday night. High temp that day is mid 40's. Of course, the game doesn't start until after sundown. DD will be sent off in layers, and the marching band uniforms are pretty warm. They also have coats that go over the uniform to protect from rain, but the directors have been known to bring them out when it gets cold.

There is never Bird on the table. They have it on the menu just never lands on our table. There are generally a few fillets, at least one Prime Rib and a couple of RibEyes. Prime Rib is one I never order. It really needs to be pretty rare for that cut. Me to eat it has to not show any life it had left in it so Prime Rib is out for me.

That is just not dead enough for me.

Hoping the heartbeat issue was just nerves and anxiety. I am sure your right eye will be better than new any day now.:)
