In other news. it is Homecoming week here. Tonight is the Powder Puff game, where junior and senior girls play, and some of the senior boys get to be pom pom girls. My daughter got to see there routine, and it made her day. "Mom, (someone we know) has a solo,". "Well, that makes sense. He should be used to solos (kid is a monster trombone player)," I said. "Mom, HE IS MOANA!". So, now I'm going.

That will be a lot of fun. Maybe you could post a picture...hint

Horrible, that's going to cause more blood clots (deep vein). It's hard enough for me to be on a plane, my circulation can't pump the blood up as it used to be. Think swollen legs, and ankles. That's scary. Last time we flew economy it was a half seat. I wrote United and said they we going to be sued for no leg support, and causing clots. I don't have my alcohol to rely on opening up my veins. I wonder how this flight will go.

Thanks I've tried to do that, but we have been having a lot of bumpy air, and the seat belt has been on a lot of the trip, the last two times. I'm not too sure about this October with all the hurricanes. One year we got into the outer bands of a hurricane, that was an E-Ride, ha!

Too bad you could not have taken a cruise out of Galveston. That would have been a shorter plane flight.

Not around here, it's not. I found out way back when I was in Vietnam that Christmas is still Christmas without even a hint of cold or snow. Hence, my current home. Still gets chilly (not by comparison) but, 99.9% chance of no snow.

We're still a gazillion years from retirement

@MinnieM123 and @FutureCEO stay safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should be fine just rain and 20 something mph winds. The timing is good for us up here our power crooks just finished their annual tree trimming they do well in advance of ice season but after the height of growing season. The one thing they do right.

Depends on the plane, and technically. bigger planes do glide too (see the miracle of hudson).

That is true. However, there's something else to keep in mind. A small plane (such as a Cessna 152, two-seater), takes way less space on the ground to actually land.

Cesar, I think it was more wishful thinking on @MySmallWorldof4 's part, that a very large plane should have parachutes. I thought it was a great idea, even though it would never happen on a larger plane. My guess is she was referring to something like this one--
