I took Belle to the vet for a check up and to get her shots. She didn't get shots. The vet believes she may have an autoimmune disorder which is attacking her paw pads. They look horrible. So bloodwork for that. Waiting to hear about the results.

And she needs dental work done. She might have to have a couple of teeth pulled; they're causing gum problems for her. The vef showed me, and I could see they were bleeding.

Also, every time we put her on the table, she would climb onto my shoulder. The tech finished taking her weight, and she immediately crawled up onto my shoulder. Then refused to get off when she needed an exam.

Poor baby.

So sorry for Belle. :( I hope that what she has can be treated and that she feels better. Poor kitty.

She is so cute. What a great idea, training kids to help out. My daughter has done that after holidays, and Christmas. We do a clean out in January. I like to get rid of things, I've out grown, or don't use anymore, and lots of canned goods, and some furniture. I like to start new, for the New Year. Things don't get bad (as in canned goods). And we are down sizing the stuff each year, getting ready for the move to our last place. I hope a very small condo. Something , one of us can manage, when by ourselves.

I saw this neat thing on Pinterest about having kids collect toys they can donate and putting them in a sack that Santa can pick up when he drops off your presents. Then he'd take the toys back to his workshop and the elves would fix them up good as new for the other little kids (of course you'd just drive them to goodwill).

I liked that idea a lot, but we're not really emphasizing Santa so it won't work for us. I just thought it was super cute.

If it hits there, does everyone stay in their resorts or do you have to move to a shelter? How does it work?
We went through Charlie, also at Wilderness Lodge, where @Gabe1 is. Fort Wilderness was evacuated to Wilderness Lodge and other surrounding resorts. We got food from Artist Point, which they kept open and had us take it back to our rooms. We were asked to keep the curtains shut and stay in our rooms. All was fine the next day.

Pretty much everything in Florida is built to hurricane standards, including the resorts. What I read earlier by a meteorologist down there was that unless you live in a mobile home or you're worried about flooding, you should stay put. So Disney, which is far enough inland, should not have to worry about flooding, and winds they can withstand.

Up here, well, different story. We have so many trees around that if one falls, that's a problem. After Irene a few years ago, we decided we're never, ever staying at the house through a hurricane. If Irma becomes an issue, I'll probably go stay with my grandma. No trees, and you can bet I'm not leaving the cats behind. No way Jose.

Thanks. I researched it, and the treatment is usually antibiotics and steroids. I know from experience that's no fun.

The vet said as for the teeth, there's a chance she could regrow them. Never heard that before, but if that was the case, that would be great.

We gave her wet food last night, and she went to town on it. And then was still hungry. Since she's not a pig, we gave her more.

Little Prince's first day of school. Though 18000 pounds a year is kinda crazy. It's like he is in university.

I'm on the forest side. New cabins side now. I'll be interested if there is wind if thes new trees stay planted.

Me too. Our cruise may have to be cancelled in October we were going to the Bahama's St. Martin, and Puerto Rico. Maybe another vacation is not in the works for us this year. It was happening next month. Oh well, there is always next year. I hope everyone stays safe in this hurricane. Poor Texas, they can't get a break, either.
I hope by then everything is cleaned up. Will they still be running your cruise even without shore stops?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I just saw the 2pm runs and it doesn't look good. I hope they are very, very wrong. Hoping you and @JenniferS have some supplies in your rooms for Sunday and Monday. Prayers and pixie dust for both of you
Thank you. We brought a whole case of water with us and a backpack FULL of granola bars, cereal bars, apple sauce, etc.
Once we got here, we bought Gatorade and fruit.

I don't think our lives are in peril, else wise we wouldn't have come. I do think we are in for two days of dreadful weather!

I bet it would require insane raining (60+inches) to actually flood the rivers and lakes of Orlando.
