Joey Chestnut, of the Nathan's hot dog eating contest fame, has just added another win to his list of . . . um . . . accomplishments.

He ate 92 carne asada tacos in eight minutes yesterday, at the Taco Truck Thowdown, in Fresno, California. As the winner, he won $4,000.

We all have our talents. :p
I actually wonder how distended his stomatch is.
Does he get sore throat and acid reflux?

United Airlines notified me today, by email, that they will be refunding the full cost of two cancelled airline tickets. I just sent my friend Annette a text message to that effect, and of course she was delighted. Her son had his surgery on Friday, and all is going well. Thankfully, she has a good support system of friend, and family around her. Her son has a very lengthy recuperation period ahead. My trip is 34 days away.

That is fantastic news about the plane tickets. Any luck with a refund from Disney on the Disneyland tickets?

@Goofyernmost I hope you and yours are safe. I just saw there was quite a bit of storm damage down your way. and @93boomer I hope your dh didn't get called out. Be safe
Although I appreciate your concern, I don't recall any major storm. We did have one of the most epic thunderstorms that I have ever witnessed a week ago Sunday, but, not much since then. Yesterday was the nicest day we have had all summer. Clear, low humidity and temps that never got out of the 80's. That storm last Sunday was incredible. No matter what direction you were to look there were continuous multiple sky to ground lightening strikes. One of the wildest, if not the wildest electrical shows I have ever seen. All the while accompanied by torrential rain that lasted close to two hours. The thing was that it was quite localized. I was working at the airport when this happened. It seemed to just stay centered over the airport and not move. Just 15 miles away were my apartment is... it didn't even rain. However, no real damage that I have seen in the area except for a lot of fried computer components. Thanks again for your concern though.

This sign has been up in our breakroom since I started working here and I really want to know what prompted it...

In our office it happened after a coworker nuked some fish one day for lunch. One of the partners was ESPECIALLY unappreciative. :cyclops:
From that day forward it was decreed that that shall never happen again...!!! :hilarious: So, therefore, everyone just avoids going there with real fish of any kind in the first place...! ;)

That's good to hear, my local news can screw up any story which is some people on the outer banks still have some power issues:hilarious:
