From my understanding of it, they weren't left out in the open, they were in a structure that was mostly canvas, but enclosed. It was rot from the rain that was used as a reason, it was termites that destroyed the wood structures. It may or may not be true. They might have just wanted to get rid of it because someone in a higher office didn't like it. That stuff happens.

This is what I was told by CMs too so there must be some truth to it.

I never got a chance to stay at the Fort Wilderness Resort during my past three trips.

We didn't stay there either. We went to see the horses and do the Christmas wagon ride then decided to stay for the movie.

Doesn't POR also offer movies on the outside?

Not sure. (POR is low on my list of resorts.) All the values have nightly movies.

I just found another video of the birthday unit made in honor for Mickey's 60th Birthday at Disneyland in 1988.

I wish Disney did something this special again.

I love those mini churro's at Pecos Bill, (they give you chocolate to dip them in). I think I took one churro and used it to eat all the chocolate!

They have those at La Hacienda de San Angel in the Mexico pavilion at Epcot, too. I get them with the caramel dipping sauce...!

I was looking at booking the Great Wolf Lodge near us for a few days. It's cheaper during Cedar Point's offseason.

My kids were more impressed with the lifeguards at Great Wolf.

As does the FQ, on the old crockett grass. They do games and roast marshmallows before. I know most if not all resorts offer movie night.
