My mom's cat has never been in snow before. Yesterday it took a running leap off her porch landing in a big pile then looked at us like "what the heck is this stuff?" She had to be picked up and put in the house. I don't think she'll go back out until summer. :joyfull:
I always loved seeing our puppies first discover snow. They loved it, and it was hard to get them back in.

I have the best hubby in the whole world. He picked me up from work last night and when I got home, I noticed something weird under my sheet on the bed so I lifted it up to see what it was and Hubby had gone and gotten one of the heated mattress pads and put it on the bed and turned it on for me so it would be nice and warm! So sweet! He didn't even plug his side in...,it's still wrapped up in the twist tie. I know he'll use it eventually...I think what really decided him was that he was sick last week with an ear infection and had a fever and was FREEZING despite adding an extra comforter to the bed. That and my noisy blowdryer next to his ear while he's trying to watch tv shows on the computer and I'm using the blow dryer to get warm. So yay!!!
I have a sick kiddo home for the last 2 days from school. Poor DS is coughing and yesterday he said his throat hurt. I went to the drug store to get him something, and I asked them (they have to have some training) what an 8 year old could take for a cough/sore throat and she directed me straight to the stuff, so I bought it, only to get home and find out it's not for use until at least 18 years. Given that he was with me and could in NO way be mistaken for an 18 year old, she seriously needs more training. So I had to go get my money back and they didn't even apologize. I don't know why kids can't have it, but there must be a reason and that is SO dangerous to be recommending meds when you don't know the restrictions. I wouldn't have even asked had I known that she didn't know any more than I do. Thank GOD I read the info before I gave it to him!! But he's not coughing as much today and he says his throat doesn't hurt anymore, but his stomach hurts when he coughs. I have him parked at DH's computer to distract him from the ouchies.
I'm so glad your husband got the mattress pad, I love mine. I go to bed every night when I get cold and it keeps me toasty all night. So sorry about your son, I hope his recovery comes soon.
