Why are people protesting?

The oversimplification by some is Starbucks hates Christmas and Jesus. People say things like this and to me anyhow it just lowers my tolerance for their opinion. Their cups on the whole about the true meaning of Christmas, more holiday-ish whimsical cups for 2 months. I find the red cups boring, reminds me college 'red' cups.

I'm unwilling to join in the protests against Starbucks over a cup. Still I have to admit this is the most boring cup I've seen them launch for the holiday season. Years past they were whimsical and fun. Reminds me of Disney's decision years back to go generic with the universal Disney Parks stuff.

Agreed...they are BORING. Not festive at all. At least put some snowflakes or something on it! But I think it's a waste of time protesting about which religion (or none) should be represented on the darned cup. Does it really matter?? It's a COFFEE CUP! Get a life, people!

second, they're kinda rare and many vendors lie about it. But there should be nickel free silver.

My Sis found earrings made out of surgical steel. Problem was they looked like surgical steel.

I watched his show for years, but I don't paint the way he does. I build up layers of colors, and the let them dictate where it takes me. Sometimes I'm surprised at the out come. He was such an inspiring person, I appreciated his love of those little squirrels.

And my feelings on Inside Out was one of the worst I've seen since the last Winnie the Pooh Movie. Me, I thought it was just too much focus on Sadness. Inside Out reminded me of so many of the children's books and novels focusing on kids being sad and depressed along with bad things happening to them. It was meant as a kids movie and my take on it was it missed the mark on what kids could relate to. Not a good balance in the overall minutes of the film of sadness to uplifting. Likely why I don't watch A Wonderful Life.

I must say Inside Out replaced Wall-E as my least favorite Pixar movie. I'll probably still IO for my collection though.

Our 14-year-old dog Abbey died last month. The day after she passed away my 4-year-old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so, and she dictated these words:
Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog
even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to swim and
play with balls. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will
know that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love, Meredith

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith
pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would
take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if
God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside
was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.' Taped to the inside
front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope.
On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help and I
recognized her right away. Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with
me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we
don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your
picture in so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep
and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you
write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have.
I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and
remember that I love you very much. By the way, I'm easy to find.
I am wherever there is love.

Interesting, Gaston only has snacks and beverages now. I don't eat messy stuff like that in that type of setting but I did see so many people devouring those Pork Shanks. Bet some guests will be sad when they go into Gaston's and find them off the menu.
