When I was in high school, I was asleep and in the middle of the night, something brushed the wall outside my bedroom. I was so scared and I was picturing a murderer or something out there...which is ridiculous because come on...the town only had 1200 people! So I finally got up the courage to look out and it was a deer, right under my window, and a few more in the yard. I felt like an idiot. In our town, we called it "rush hour" when there were 3 cars on the street. You were more likely to encounter a pronghorn antelope than actual traffic...I should have guessed it would be some sort of 4 legged creature with antlers!

The other day, hubby went to throw a garbage bag into our bin. And what did he find but a very comfortable raccoon curled up among the garbage. He had likely been stuck there all night and needed a little assistance to get out. Now, I ordinarily find these animals adorable but there's something about them being enclosed or where they aren't supposed to be or something. I ran away and hid. :)

What are your feelings on Epic Mickey for the Wii? I think it looks really fun but I thought that about Disney Infinity and it was a real stinker in our house. Thinking of getting it for one of the kiddos for Christmas since I see a number of used copies floating around for sale.

@donaldtoo , since you're a real "car" guy, what's your opinion on air bags? We have a 2007 Chevy Aveo (GM car), and long story short, apparently GM cars from 2004 2008 have issues with the airbag light system--a lot of them have had to be repaired. To me, airbags are a secondary restraint; the primary safety restraint is the seat belt. Yet, in my state (I don't know about Texas), they will not let your car pass inspection if the stupid red light is on. Our light has been on for a month now. (The airbags themselves are fine; they've never deployed. It's something in the electrical, whatever part of that system. GM had refused to do a recall of vehicles, so people are spending a lot of money to get this fixed.) So--

I was just wondering if you ever had issues with the airbag system in any of your cars (I know you've driven a number of different models and years). The repairs are expensive. Do you know that if your airbags deploy, they're only good for one time only--and they cost $1,000 each??!!! What a freakin racket going on. My parents and grandparents never had airbags in their cars (heck, my grandparents never even had seat belts!), and I think airbags should be an "optional" restraint system. What do you think?
I grew up without seat belts. To that defense, we have a lot more cars on the road today. But, air bags...at my height and weight, seem more risky .

In reply to your response (above) to French Quarter, I'm not sure that giving up coffee will de-gunk your system. Coffee is a diuretic, so it actually has the opposite effect--it cleans you out! :joyfull:

I think you meant to reply to someone else? I forget who but someone else was talking about giving up caffeine. It certainly wasn't me! I drink coffee a few times a month. Now Diet Pepsi on the other hand...

I'm out as some are going on tonight. This is a record time on line for me. I hate the time change. I don't know whether to go to bed or stay up. I'll be good in 6 month's!:D

The first night, I enjoyed having the extra hour of sleep. But now I feel like I want to go to bed ridiculously early and I wake up an hour early (which I suppose isn't a horrible thing). Of course, I've got this bad cold too so that could be throwing me off.

I hope you feel better soon. I'm still waking up in the middle of the night. I put PBS on and watched a couple cooking shows until I went back to sleep. Good thing hubby can sleep through a nuclear war, ha!

Yep, I don't wear make-up on a regular basis, only on special occasions, which are few and far between. But my lack of use is more due to sheer laziness, although I like your reason better. :cat:
As we got in our teens, Mom thought no one should leave the house without make up. After hearing about animal testing, and harmful chemicals. I said no way.

My younger ds simply loved it. he has since out grown the Wii and gave the game to a good friend. He still plays Epic Mickey 2 on his PS3

Sympathy like, a big hug and a hot cup of hot cocoa! The weather sure is crazy this year as I'll be out in shorts, a tank top and flip flops Thursday. I should have a high in the mid to upper 70s, maybe even break 80 Thursday. According to the long range forecast my dh picked a good year to BBQ on Thanksgiving. Even if it rains at least it will be warm:joyfull:
75 here today, rain mixed with snow, Thursday. Then back to the 60's on the week-end.
