If you follow Laura Ingalls then you'll be near me. The first book the one about living in the woods, she wrote that about living in Western Wisconsin!

Yes, that's right! I just re-read the entire series this summer and then did some research on the route that we would follow. They seem to do a good job at offering museums at each pertinent location. I do think I will opt to drive though instead of going with the covered wagon. ;)

My family drove everywhere when I was a kid. We drove to Illinois in 2 days about every other year and we drove to DisneyWorld one year....it took us 3 days driving from about 6 am to 5 p.m. We also drove to New York when I was singing in Carnegie with my choir. And I was too young to remember it, but we drove to California to Disney when I was a year old. We always did stuff along the way...like, when we drove to Florida, we stopped in...I want to say Kentucky, and went to a cave there...and somewhere the Louis and Clark had traveled, and I think there was a trapping museum there. And I remember staying overnight in Hays Kansas and we went to a museum there. Whenever we went to Illinois, we stopped at Wall Drug in South Dakota, and we did the badlands a few times, and the Corn Palace. When we went to New York, we stopped in DC for a day, too. I saw SOOO much as a kid. I kind of miss that.

Yep, we drove every summer from No Cal to Texas and back in a cab over camper with no A/C for 3 weeks (3-days drive each way) when we lived there when I was a kiddo.
Saw the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Pretrified Forest, etc..
Awesome times...! :)

That does sound so awesome. I have yet to visit those places. I'm on the opposite coast. I will get there some day though. The pictures are stunning.

I guess that means you won't be wearing those lovely dresses either?

Me too. I know nothing about these shows.

I watch things like Empire and Grey's Anatomy. Watched Aquarius this summer with David Duchovony and loved it. Can't wait for next summer for it to start again. (Fingers crossed.) As far as new shows, I have been enjoying Quantico and Limitless.

I'd be interested in watching Empire and Aquarius (love David Duchovny, although not interested in watching new X-Files).

The only shows I've been watching regularly are Walking Dead and American Horror Story, but not sure if they'll manage to keep my interest this season. WD has its moments, but I really need something to happen soon.

I liked the movie Limitless - I thought it was a great concept. Who wouldn't want to just take a pill and be able to remember every single detail of your life?

That is probably a good choice. I hear the wagons don't have satellite radio. ;)

Yeah, I've never been into the X-Files but Duchovny is a brilliant actor and picks such interesting projects. Aquarius is set around Charles Manson. Duchovny is a detective. It is a great piece of television. Like Duchovny's stuff, it has an edgy, arty sort of feel.

Empire is also fantastic. Totally sexy and just filled with energy. A whole different world for me.

I haven't watched either of these. I hear a lot of people talk about the Walking Dead but it just doesn't seem like something I would like.

I would like to give American Horror Story a go sometime. That looks really interesting.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. It's also become a lot busier with posts the past few months, so even harder to catch up here. Sometimes, I don't even have enough time for other sections of the forum that I normally visit, because I spend a decent chunk of time on this one part of the forum! ;)
