Just got back from visiting pop.
Good grief, that man is a dynamo!
We talked for 2+ hrs. straight, and he was up and down a few times.
Mom said friends of his who've visited and had the same procedure as many as 20 years younger than him can't believe how fast he's bouncing back!
Although, several that know him well, actually can...! ;) :)

This is the happiest thing I've heard so far this morning. (Then again, no one is up, and my dog, Jack, isn't exactly talkative . . . ;) ) Anyway, this is why we all like your pop--he's an inspiration to all of us to live life to the fullest, and not get bummed out by medical details (within reason). He knows that if he has the right attitude, and keeps trying, he'll be running circles around the rest of us in no time! xoxo to your pop!! :angelic:

We were at a good quick service place for lunch. At the register is bandannas for sale to support cancer research. And as I looked at the sign it just rubbed me the wrong way. This place doesn't sell clothing normally just food and beverages.

The bandannas had the places name bold and prominent.

$4.99 price. $2.00 of which will be donated to cancer research leaving $2.99......

Bandannas wholesale between .25 cents to .50 cents.

I'm a hawk at watching the details for any charity soliciting donations. You have to be careful. What I will say in favor of the bandanna/cancer charity, is that at least they were honest about the breakdown of the money.

Guess that is why I hate broad statements especially when they single out the Mom. I wonder how many of us on this particular social media sight are parents? I'd like to think even though we play on here we are not labeled as parents that don't pay enough attention to their kids or are self-absorbed.

Regardless of anyone's station in life, everyone is entitled to some relaxation time. It actually makes people more effective in other aspects of their lives, if they have time to have fun and relax each day. I'm sure no one thinks that any parent on this forum is neglecting their children. :)

Thanks I painted them a few years ago. I was surprised when she started jumping up on the chair. But that was when my other dog was still alive and he would always sit on my lap on the porch so I suppose she wanted her own spot too and chose the chair and now that he is gone she still likes the chair.

Wow! You painted those yourself? I just assumed you bought them. Yikes, you're talented!! :jawdrop:

Good morning seems like I missed at the fun yesterday:(. My dh and I were finally going to put the new molding up in the dining room when we realized the floor looked like garbage. So we measured remeasured , went online and tried to figure out what to do about it. We're putting down wood. So off to both the big blue and big orange stores today as they both seem to have a few good choices. We're going with a floating floor as it's an easy DIY. We helped somebody put one in a few years ago in a much larger area. We put vinyl down when we moved in (the room had carpet and we have children). Now the boys are older time to do what we want and not worry about child proofing quite as much.:joyfull: I really hope the room is finished before Thanksgiving. What started as a fresh coat of paint has turned into a total refurb, new molding, windowsills, moving the shelves, new shades and drapes. Now he's talking about adding chair rail:cautious::rolleyes::arghh::bawling::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: Oh wait that'll be really nice:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: That can wait until after the holidays, it would be nice to have it up but I can live without it.

This is really funny (in a sense--not meant to laugh at the extra work and effort you're doing). I've also had friends who would begin with one improvement to a room, and then realize that everything else in the room looked like carp, compared to the one improvement. So they end up gutting the whole thing and completely redoing the entire room! They were also frustrated with the whole thing, not to mention all the extra money they needed to shell out!

kinda hard for us who can only check once or maybe twice a day. so much to read and see!

I wholeheartedly agree with you. It's also become a lot busier with posts the past few months, so even harder to catch up here. Sometimes, I don't even have enough time for other sections of the forum that I normally visit, because I spend a decent chunk of time on this one part of the forum! ;)

in other news.. just saw TED 2..
I have to say thats the most rudest and dirties comedy movie I've seen so far.
But jeebus.. so funny!
Also, how the hell they manage to get that many famous actors?
They even got Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson!

My hubby saw the first TED and thought it was hilarious. He hasn't seen TED 2 yet. From what I've heard, I think the TED movies tend to appeal more to a male audience.
