Just got back from visiting pop.
Good grief, that man is a dynamo!
We talked for 2+ hrs. straight, and he was up and down a few times.
Mom said friends of his who've visited and had the same procedure as many as 20 years younger than him can't believe how fast he's bouncing back!
Although, several that know him well, actually can...! ;) :)

I'm glad your Pop is recovering well. Sounds like he has a positive outlook and doesn't want to be out of commission for very long and that helps with recovery too.

My grandfather stopped by today to give us my great-great grandfather's violin and viola. My great great grandfather was in the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. The violin and viola are each over 100 years old. Sad because all I could do today was tune them, play the strings with no fingering using my violin's bow, and pluck "Twinkle twinkle little star" as if they were guitars. But once my hand heals, going to teach myself viola.

How amazing is that? Woot!

Is this the Grandpa you are close to or the Grandpa not so much?

I love those chairs. Mine are just primary colors. I have those foot rests for mine too but Walt doesn't climb up on those chairs. A bit too slanty for the 100#s of happy pup.

Thanks I painted them a few years ago. I was surprised when she started jumping up on the chair. But that was when my other dog was still alive and he would always sit on my lap on the porch so I suppose she wanted her own spot too and chose the chair and now that he is gone she still likes the chair.

As always, thank you so very much, Bets, and right back at ya'...!!! :)
Sorry that I am so far behind, but, I hope y'all are having the most awesomest ;) trip ever...!!!!!

I'm so far behind too. I knew @betty rose had a trip coming up and here I find her on an airplane. At least I know to follow her posts for a bit to join along on her trip.

People always complain about getting older and I have been known to complain about the aches and the pains. But there are so many blessings that come with age. And, for me, as each year goes by, I become more and more confident. When I think of the time spent in my youth worrying about what other people thought of my appearance... It's so different now that I'm in my mid-thirities. I realize that confidence is what matters. I am hoping that as time marches on I will become even more comfortable in my own skin.

I'll be 53 in 10 days, and I'm as comfortable in my own skin as I've ever been.
Although, admittedly, I've never been particularly uncomfortable...! ;) :)
