My grandfather stopped by today to give us my great-great grandfather's violin and viola. My great great grandfather was in the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. The violin and viola are each over 100 years old. Sad because all I could do today was tune them, play the strings with no fingering using my violin's bow, and pluck "Twinkle twinkle little star" as if they were guitars. But once my hand heals, going to teach myself viola.
You play violin? I have my grandpa's violin, but it's in a sad state. The bow needs to be rehaired, the bridge has fallen out and at least 2 of the strings are broken. If I played, I might be able to justify the excuse to get it fixed up, but I only learned the basics, which I've forgotten now, though I really liked learning it. Sounds horrible when you are first learning, but it's fun.

I had a very RUDE stylist once in college. She was just so mean and insisted that I had messed my hair up so badly that it needed to be cut off up to my shoulders to get it healthy again (it was all the way down my back) because I said to just cut off the dry, split ends. She was just trying to sell me the salon shampoo. She chopped it and my boyfriend didn't talk to me for 3 days because he was mad that I cut my hair. (that was the fiance that I broke up with) I came back another time a few months later and got a very obviously gay man who was so sweet and told me that that woman was CRAZY because my hair was lovely and he couldn't wait to get his hands on it. There are just some REALLY bad stylists out there. We have a salon here that we really like and she gave us our haircuts for free last time we donated. They are always so nice and there's only one there that I avoid because she never listens to what we want, but the others are all great!
That was my and sis's problem they loved to cut our hair, just too much, and too much off. I tried taking in pictures, and it made no difference. The salons where I had the trouble, went out of business, it was no wonder!

I had no bust for years, and I felt inadequate. Funny how we want what another person has, and that those ages, we don't know any better. I'm getting that late age spread, and I hate it. But my love of food outweighs the added inches!:jawdrop::joyfull:
The grass is always greener...My best friend and an augmentation done a few years ago and loves the result...I've seriously thought of getting a reduction and I'd get it at least to the size she got for her enlargement. It would still be several sizes smaller. But then I always think "This is the way God made me." If I manage to lose the weight I want and I'm still too big in the chest area, I'll consider it. But then a friend of mine had one and she said if she had known how much it was going to hurt after, she wouldn't have done it. She's glad she did, but she wouldn't have if she'd known. That makes me afraid.

I love her hair too but not trying to tame it. I went through a lot hair care products to find something that works. I swear some mornings it looks like this. :banghead: :joyfull:

View attachment 113962 He has gorgeous hair.
When my kids went to the Christian school here before it closed, I was on the lice committee. After every vacation, we had to do a check of every kid in the whole school, and you had to take out braids, ponytails, etc. My daughter's best friend had hair like this, but more tightly curled and her mom had just washed and braided it and I had to take it out to check for lice and then try to get it back into some sort of braid. I failed miserably!!! I'm betting her mom was none too happy with me when she got home from school!!

Surgery to me is very painful, I would never have another one if I didn't have to for medical reasons. Or if needed for pain relief, I 'll take what I've been given and be glad that most of it is still working! I may be one short of a load in the evening, but I just need to go to bed earlier!:p:D:eek::rolleyes:

Yeah, the only reason I consider it is because of the pain. There's a lot of strain on my back and shoulders/neck, not to mention the pain of bouncing while I work out, even in a strong supportive device. But if I lost weight and got down to a better size, I might not need it for the pain. To be fair, my friend said the reason that hers was so painful is that the pain meds just didn't work for her...her body doesn't respond to anything except ibuprofen, which the nurses would not give her for some reason. But I also have this somewhat irrational fear of getting addicted to pain meds if I ever needed them for something. I have pain meds now for my hip and I'm supposed to take them 3 times a day, but 1 a day takes care of the majority of the pain and I don't want to rely on them, so I won't allow myself to take more than I feel I NEED. If I ever needed them for a longer stretch like after surgery, I don't know how I'd deal with that...my family has a history of addictions, so I don't want to push it.

I'm convinced people caused Disney to remove bench's. Probably someone got hurt on a bench, and away they went!
you mean to SUE they went?

"OMG, I TOTALLY BLAME DISNEY FOR LETTING MY DUMB AHOLE SELF HIT SQUARE ON MY LEG WHILE I WAS LOOKING ANYWHERE ELSE BUT WHERE I WAS WALKING.. THEREFORE.. I DEMAND 5 MILLION COMPENSATION!"
suddenly, all benches gone.
