When I was in college I often, almost every other weekend flew down to Mississippi. I'd be the courier of Raw Peanuts for my friend to his family up this way. They'd soak them in their special solution and then bake them in the oven. I'm not a big fan of peanuts but they certainly do have their following of peeps that start from the raw in shell starting point.

We use to go to a restaurant that delivered peanuts to the table when you first seated and everyone threw the shells on the floor. With all the allergies I was surprised a pretty nice steak restaurant down where my DS went to college still held to that tradition. @StarWarsGirl95 would be dead.

Five Guys still does the peanut thing, but they have many signs that say that there are peanut products inside and that they use peanut oil. I'm sympathetic with someone that has that type of allergy, but, they are not the whole world. There have to be places where people without those problems can go and enjoy the things that they like. There are many, many establishments that will take care of those with those allergies, it really isn't necessary that absolutely everything be altered for everyone. There are many places to get hamburgers that have no connection with peanuts at all. It's a big world, not everything needs to be one size fits all, as long as there are alternatives. Chose your options, don't deprive others of things that they can tolerate.
