Did it ever come to light what was actually wrong? I can come up with several scenarios, but I have no idea which one, if any, are correct.

Yup what they said. Dumbo didn't get any wider and someone messed up pretty badly.

I think it came down to not accounting for the thickness of the tile and mortar used along the side of the pool.

I can't believe that ram couldn't hold an extra 600 lbs. Just up the pressure a little and it stays in the same spot. Might be a faulty position feedback loop or programming but I like to think it was just someone using the wrong measurement. Maybe metric vs SAE? Gee, where did that satellite go?

My statement was not limited to geography or type of attraction or venue. Only that stuff gets relocated when that was once, mysteriously, not considered. Must be the mouse getting wiser in his advanced years.
