I was in a rather bad car accident and even with set belts on both knees slammed into the dash. So between that and a few sports injuries over the years my doc said to get it done and I'm happy I did. They're almost like new :)I've had both knees scoped. One more than once. I think they are now worth more than my house:hilarious:

I'd go for the family suite. We like to spread out on vacation. Which is funny because we don't see much of the condo except to sleep, shower and breakfast

Well that's lousey that no one noticed the difference in your looks and the massive effort you put in to reach your goal. At one point in my life, I dropped around 45 pounds. Everyone at work noticed, and there were a few who thought I should stop (at a comfortable point in "their mind" . . . :rolleyes:). I had 10 pounds more to lose at that point. Between my doctor and myself, that would bring me to a proper weight for my height, etc. I even told them I was under a doctor's supervision on this.

Yet, even with that, there were some that couldn't deal with accepting my new look (believe me, I wasn't skinny--never was in my life . . . ). It got to the point where I was actually telling people to back off and that my doctor knew better than they did. I don't know, sometimes, if it was a jealousy thing on their part or what, but they got on my nerves. Thankfully, most people were very supportive, asked me for diet tips (I told them to just eat smaller portions, cut way down on sweets, etc.).

I read that the one up in Attitash, NH, has had some mishaps. From what I read from reviews, people are not given sufficient time between the start of sliders at the top of the mountain; and it's easy to have someone crash into the back of you, depending upon how fast they go down. Some people have wiped out and ended up with scrapes and cuts. That stinks because years ago it wasn't as crowded, (I know, I went there a few times) and you could really enjoy the scenery coming down the slide, without worrying about someone coming down behind you at a high speed.

I think it really depends more on the operator of the slide, how they space apart the sliders.

Never stayed at either, although theming looks very nice at both of them. I have heard many good reviews for PORS.

Just thought I'd mention (at least for the first year they were open), AOA had some guest complaints regarding the a/c in the suites. (During the summer months in particular, this could be a deal-breaker for some.) WDW has cut back on the a/c in a number of their hotels, by the way. But I specifically remember comments about AOA, because they were the newest property on site, and their new, energy savings a/c didn't go over well with some of the guests.

Anyway, it might be helpful to check out the hotels forum to see what others think of AOA. Maybe things have improved.

The funniest thing that happened after dropping quite a bit of weight was while shopping with my dh. A friend who we hadn't seen since before starting down my path to better health started giving me the stink eye. My dh went over to her and asked what was wrong, well she started to explain how she was really hating "me" because she liked me and didn't want my dh to be with somebody new. She didn't recognize me, gee drop a few pounds and get a new hair style. LOL Needless to say she sent quite a bit of time telling me how sorry she was.
