God bless you for remembering her. I ashamed I couldn't remember her. I must have read Little Women (even though I cried, every time I read that book) and loved little Men, when Joe and Lawrence married. The ultimate happily ever after book. (Feel free to correct, it's been over 30 years since I've read these. Now, I have to buy them, and enjoy again. I kept checking them out of the library! So many years ago, such a happy time, to live through books!

I have no idea why you think... that sharing your experience is... somehow... "offending us".

I'm very open to Alien stuff as well.

Our universe is insanely big.. our galaxy as well, then we have a few galaxies very close to ours(galactically wise)..
Its impossible to say that we're Alone.

But I also agree that the government keeping it secret is understandable.

If people are still $%#$^$#@ stupid to kill others for the sake of things as simple as religion or skin colors. Can you imagine the mess they would do if they meet with real otherworldly creatures from space?

Still, I'm fascinated by the whole thing.
So bad... I dont think I will ever experience anything remotely close than a "weird streak of light moving at insane speeds and in a way that its impossible for planes" view.

For some reason, her name came immediately to mind when you mentioned the books. (Little Women had also been made into a movie back in the 40s or 50s, and then 1 or 2 more remakes--the last of which starred Wynona Rider in the early 90s. I liked the old June Allyson version the best.)

There were tons of other books I liked as well, but I bet I couldn't name any of the authors now. ;)

Sorry, it seems I offended, when I didn't mean too. Here is me and hubby's experiences. In the late 60's after we were married, hubby had to check out a substation, for work, I went along.....driving back from the substation.....our car lost all power, before us in the road was a glowing cigar shaped light, no matter what hubby tried to do...our car was dead. The glowing light took off at extremely fast speed, and then all the car operations, came back on. Still, to this day we don't know what happened. Years later we moved to Kansas,, while we were resting on the deck, we saw something like and orb. It was reported that night that people had saw a UFO, in our area...the military closed the road around us...and took something away. covered by a tarp, on a semi trailer truck bed. The news had pictures of them hauling away something. We didn't say anything, because when you see something you can't explain you are afraid. When we moved to Colorado, we lived near the foothills, not any more....the person that owned the home before us, worked at Martin Marietta. It seems he left some crazy systems , wires, and stuff , in the basement. We didn't know what they were for....so we didn't touch them. Again, I was on the deck.....looking at the mountains...something I have loved to do since I moved here. During the afternoon, I saw a , ....a flying saucer. It was rocking back and forth in front of the foothills. Suddenly, 2....F 15'''s appeared...they surrounded it....it took off like a light, the F 15's couldn't keep up. About three days later the military came to my house, an Air Force person, in full uniform.....asked about what we had in the basement. Of course I couldn't tell them....they told us to take it out immediately, which we did....nothing after that ever happened. What the Martin Marietta person was doing, we will have no clue. They moved out of State, the neighbor's said they were very odd. Just our experiences. I have no explanation, as to what happened.

Id honestly be more scared of the military trying to "disappear" you because you seen too much. D:

I don't know if this is from my enjoying sci fi movies but I believe there is aliens living on other planets. Just because a human could never live on a planet, doesn't mean someone else can.

I think the answers for us is "NOT YET".

I dont know if it was Hawkin or Sagan who said something very important for us as Species..
YOU NEVER PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN A SINGLE BASKET.

We have been incredibly lucky to have the HAVEN the Earth gives us.. with the moon and Jupiter constantly protecting us from the big meteorites..
But luck wont last forever.
The sun could get ed ANY TIME and throw us a monstrous flare right at us (that would destroy the ozone layer in seconds, leaving us to be bombarded by bad space and sun radiation).

So, if we do not kill ourselves with contamination, climate change or wars (or a third party event).
We might be spreading to the stars.

As for Aliens...
I found it very funny when the NASA guys said that were on "track to detect aliens" by 2025.
Even funnier if you take into consideration that the Pope accepted already the possibility of aliens AND moving them to Christianity.
Why? simple!... The best way to make humans stop fearing.. is to get us used to them.
Another movie that reminds me of this movement.. was PAUL (very funny but rude movie).
That they used the image of the alien (paul) on everything (including lunchboxes) so humans wouldn't lose their sanity when they finally seen one. :hilarious:

What is the taken series, I don't watch much TV , I do like the various cooking channels, and love the history channel. What channel is this on? I did see a new Ancient Aliens is coming on soon. On the history channel. Is Taken on the history channel? Or fiction? I don't watch much fiction. I think the world is interesting enough to watch all the history we were taught, and not taught. I'm not worried about the military.....I didn't tell them that I saw anything. Again I was too scared. That was over 15 years ago. But, it did make an impression. Someone else was on the nightly news reporting what he saw, he was made out to be a nutcase. I have no interest in publicity, or worse...

I think in the back of my mind, I've figured that it was the military, as I understand, the public is 75 years behind, what they have developed.
