Actually, I confess that I'd probably run to the window, too, to see what was going on if I heard shots. Never been around guns before, so I'd probably be curious. I think that (in the moment) curiosity briefly took center stage, before survival sense kicked in. Regardless, it's a tragic news story today, and as you said, prayers to the injured.
It's human nature to be curious. My family are hunters so I'm familiar with firearms.

I like how they made the moat of Windsor Castle into garden area. (not for visitors to roam around in though)

We watched the changing of the guards here at Windsor instead of Buckingham Palace because we heard it was just as good, not as crowded, and we would be closer to the actual guards. It was nice to see but a lot of standing by the guards.

We were there on July 1st, Princess Diana's birthday. Some people had left tributes to her on the gates.

When my best friends went home to England for a visit they brought back a teddy bear dressed in a guard's uniform. She named it Brit. :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
We did have dinner tonight at Sanaa, which I enjoyed more than Boma. Yummy bread service and I got the butter chicken & spicy Durban shrimp, which was also yummy. Definitely liked the shrimp better, though. Chicken a little chewy.

We had planned to do Jiko on Saturday night, but I think we've had enough "ethnic" food now (although we are still doing Tusker for breakfast on Sat) and will try a different signature restaurant instead. Just need to figure out which one!
Yachtsman or Narcoossee's.
We did both last year, and re-booked both again this year.
IMO - Le Cellier is a Signature-wannabe. Definitely not worth two credits.

And thus concludes my familiarity with Signatures. :)

Dunno what it is about Yachtsmans, but the past few times I've been there, it's kind of been meh. Other than the steak, which the quality of the meat is always good, but they char it a bit too much for my taste, the sides aren't that good. I prefer the appetizers at Le Cellier actually (the poutine and the cheddar cheese soup) and their steaks are fantastic (Mushroom filet :hungry:), but I can see why you wouldn't want two credits for it or why the service is not up to par with Yachtsmans. Have not been to Narcoossee's in ages, but between Yachtsman and Narcoossee's, probably would go with Narcoossee's.

My parents are going there next trip. My brother and I are going to Chefs de France. We were talking about doing Beaches and Cream, but their menu doesn't have anything my brother will eat sadly (Chefs has chicken strips; he almost lives off those on vacation. None at Beaches and Cream).

Well, so much for 24 hours at home. I was going to spend 24 hours at home, but a friend who I have not seen in months called and we made plans. So it was nice, and the weather is gorgeous.

I don't think 24 hours at home is happening any time soon. It's a good thing in that I've been catching up with a lot of people who I haven't gotten to see as much during the semester. But I'm more than a bit tired (and I don't think catching up on this thread is happening).

@catmom46 Hope you are having an awesome WDW trip.

Well, I am going to bed. Less than 12 hours and I am out the door again.

Well, you know Hubby and I are carnivores and loves us some steak! My steak at Yachtsman was the best I have ever had! The fact that they let me swap my side for any I wished was a big bonus.
And the onion pull-aparts ... I am swooning as I type.

That being said, Mike rated Narcoossee's slightly higher. Certainly a classier setting.

@figmentfan423 My brother had a friend over who spent the night, and before heading out with my friend, I was at home with them this morning. They were being really noisy in the basement, playing with the air hockey table, not really using it for air hockey, more playing with the noisy scoreboard. They weren't really hurting anything; it was just kind of annoying, but I let it go. I put Star Trek: TNG on Netflix on the flat screen for myself. All of the sudden, they both came up, sat down on the couch, and watched the entire episode. Why did I not think of that sooner?:hilarious:

I agree with your hubby that Narcoossee's is a classier setting. I'm used to having really good steak at home, so for me, I'd rather have something else while I'm out. But I think the quality of the meat is the same at Le Cellier and Yachtsman. Le Cellier has better appetizers and sides; Yachtsmans has better service. And while I like the onion bread, I prefer the pretzel bread at Le Cellier. They should open up a stand and sell it outside. So good.:hungry:

To each his/her own, though. :)
