I know what you mean, it seems as if a lot of the marketing for adult travel includes spas, casinos, and bars. I am not a huge fan of those, except maybe the bars. But with the bars, I don't want it loud or like a club atmosphere, just a nice place to relax, talk, and enjoy a drink or two. The spas at vacation destinations are always super expensive compared to getting a massage in my hometown, and I don't do that frequently (only 3 times in my life). Maybe that is why I still need to travel to Disney places, I'm just not adult enough for other places!
Me either:D I'm thinking that's a good thing. I do get my nails done, mostly for the hour or 2 of peace and quiet and the lazy factor. Everybody needs some lazy time.

We did the studio tram tour, it was really just recreated movie sets or props but I rode it for Catastrophe Canyon!

There is a little Toy Story Playland area at the Studios park, it reminded me of Bug's Land in DCA.

There was a fun Slinkie Dog ride and Rex tried to get me!

Then we had our second best meal at DLP at Bistrot Chez Remy, it was like we were in the movie.

Hubby's fish, my steak and chocolate mousse for dessert.

THNX My ds has Chez Remy on the top of his DLP bucket list. We're hoping to get there for his HS graduation many years away.

Definitely Carnival. (Next year the Breeze will be sailing out of Galveston instead of Miami.) For what we were pricing, we can go on Carnival 8 days, 4 ports of call for $2,000 less than what Disney offers. I don't like Mickey that much to pay that.
After next year's trip the dh and I have decided to go on a cruise sans our little angels. I've started looking around at prices and we probably won't be going on a Disney cruise.:( Seeing we'll leave out of NYC. Oh and the price again:(:(:(

I have had access to the AAA parking for years, but, frankly I could never think of any reason why I would want to use it. In places like MK it is a long walk from there to the gates and I love to ride the trams. To me it is as much a part of and a must do at WDW as anything else. OK, so I'm a cheap date, but, there is nothing about the AAA thing that is something I would have wanted to do.

Oh, that's surprising (not the part about you being a cheap date :hilarious:) but that the AAA parking was a hike to the gates. I thought the whole point of the AAA Diamond parking was to offer up front parking. From what you said, it doesn't really sound all that convenient. And I agree that the the little trams are really fun to ride. I recall my first trip back in 1985 with my mother, and on our last day of vacation, it was one more "ride" that we could enjoy, when we had to return to our rental car!

When I was 21, my aunt took me to a casino (gambling age in the US). She gave me $20 dollars....I gained up to $40, lost $10 of that and I'm like okay, I'm done. Never been to a casino since.

I drink but not to get drunk. Got drunk for the first and only time during my first year of college and never again. I don't do clubs like other people my age. People with kids too. A lot of times, I felt like the odd person out especially with the music I listen to.

Nothing wrong with any of that. You're an independent spirit. You'll probably never run out of money either--not a gambler, and you don't throw away tons of money in bars. Sounds o.k. to me.

There is a reason that Carnival is less expensive that DCL. DCL is a premium cruise line and Carnival is not. With a premium cruise line you pay a premium price. Same reason you pay more for a cruise on Celebrity. Not hating on Carnival as my parents go on their cruises all the time because Carnival has a ton of itineraries and are inexpensive. They love them

However with the premium price you pay on a cruise line for DCL, the expectations are also higher. If they did not meet these expectations I would not pay and would stick to Royal C or start sailing Carnival.

In the end, it is all a matter of preference and what is most important to you.

I've never been on a cruise, but it's encouraing to hear that there are good options for everyone. I really enjoyed @MOXOMUMD 's cruise TR this year, and she didn't go on a Disney cruise.

As for the Disney cruise lines, I've also heard nothing but excellent reviews; and as you said, it just comes down to personal preference. :)

Groundhog. :grumpy: We've never had them so close to our house.

Just curious: if they are an issue (I don't know much about ground hogs, but we used to have them sometimes in our backyard when I was growing up), do you have a local animal control officer (we have those out here in the cities and towns), that you could report it to? Sometimes if a certain species becomes overpopulated, it can create various problems, and animal control can often intercede.

Here's some pics of the mall near where I am living in Netanya. It's a few blocks away and within walking distance. But first a quick story. So, I was taking wide angle shots of the mall and a girl working at the mall started yelling at me about taking pics. I walked over to her and said "Why are Israelis so camera shy?" Her English wasn't that good, so I had to slowly explain my question, which lead to an hour long conversation, which lead to her her giving me her phone number - the first person in Israel to give me their number and my first Israeli friend! Yay!

At least you can be assured that you won't have another 6 weeks of winter.

That sure led to some strange folks!
Ain't dat the truth!

Up front means up in front of the parking lot. In the case of MK, (not necessarily the others) I recall AAA parking be on the right side of the entrance along side Handicapped Parking. Hardly close to the entrance and, in my mind, absolutely the wrong place to have HP. However, the design does not lend itself to much better. Anyway, it wouldn't matter because I just like riding the trams and if the AAA parking were 3 feet away from the entrance, I still wouldn't want to use it. You also have to remember that parking in MK is a mile away from the park to begin with. It is the closest place to be when you have a wheelchair or scooter, but, it is still a good distance particularly if you are pushing the wheelchair through that underpass that the tram at one point had trouble pulling up through.
