my new Disney keychain broke....only lasted a month. Cheap products from China. My last keychain from there broke as well a tumblr. no more products from disney for me.

I've learned to stick to certain type of products from Disney. I learned early on 'Parks' Disney clothing for children from Disney was horrid, wrinkly messes. I only buy more expensive clothing cause the more reasonable price stuff washes oddly and mis-shapes things like t-shirts. My plates and mugs have all held up. Most of the jewelry has held up minus one watch that had to be returned while I was still there. I've even had problems with the musical Plushes. Winnie ran out of battery life (sew into the bear) as soon as we got home. I exchanged it the next year. They begrudgingly took it back for the same one. I bought glassware, tumblers and juice glasses and the paintings on them melted off in the dishwasher. I packed them up and took them back next trip. Save those receipts! I still buy stuff but at the prices they charge I take it back when it doesn't live up to what it is suppose to be.

They can have my Smartphone when they pry it from my cold, dead hand.

:D ;) :)

I'm not tied to my smartphone in the way my kids are, but it is now part of my life and nobody is going to change that. I thought it was a nice Christmas gift for us a few years back and soon kicked myself for waiting and holding out for so long. I wished I would have had it throughout my kids being away at college. Hindsight.

I still have 2 landlines. My homeline now only for my folks, that will soon change. And my business line. I cant mix the two so I'm not so sure what I will do about that. For now it stays.

Basically, it means "sweet job".
I'm still confused.
Yeah and old slang term similar to lemon being something bad. That car was a real lemon meaning a car that just had all sorts of mechanical problems.

Plum, kinda indicates that the job is highly sought after and desirous.

For him it wasn't even on the list of possibilities for college program students. He just came with a great deal of training and experience for that position, the supervisor recognized it and put him over there. He never worked before 8:30 am or past 8:30pm and had all holidays off. He never worked with guests, only for the most part staff or corporate Disney so he never wanted to 'get away' from the parks like some of his friends. When he went in, he went into the parks only for fun. Every once in a while he'd pick up a shift for a parade for overtime money or work a golf outing. Even when he went back initially as a CP when he graduated college he worked a position with a wage plus commission, again pretty isolated from the public, he loved that position too. That supervisor too helped him write his resume to further help him on his way. Worked out very well for him.

My DD on the other hand would not go. She said she shared a dorm room one year in college, she was not doing that ever again, Disney or not.
aaah! I understand it now, thanks!

They had to devise something for the elite class to follow so they knew who they could and could not marry, they liked to keep those blood lines close back in the day.:eek::facepalm:
which backfired on them many times.
I still remember reading how interrelated where they..
That a prince had like 3 intermixed relatives in different places.. like one aunt being the sister of their brother... and so on..
Caused grave health issues too (deformed kids, crazy kids with mental issues..etc..)

For some reason my phone is being dumb and not letting me upload pictures so I might have to do that from home. Sorry, but don't worry ihave food pictures! Hope you guys are doing well!

I remember visiting Universal Studios Orlando in 2004 and in 2015. Is it just me or is it always the hottest locations compared to Walt Disney World?

I genuinely love them both. They each have their own unique offerings. I certainly like Universals transportation options better along with their hub park/downtown district proximity better to their resorts, they nailed that. No wasted hour moving from park to park or to City Walk/resort. I'm a fan of their newer attractions too. Great imagineering. They waste no time in adding new attractions to their parks, they get on with it. I have great appreciation for that. FLE was a long drawn out expansion with little bang for all that.

Still Disney has my heart. There is something about the charm of Epcot and the Magic Kingdom that Universal can't top. Maybe someday the Studio's will return its appeal and Animal Kingdom will reach her potential. While I love Universals offerings and love the value of the Portifino resort where we stay, if I could only go to one resort, it would likely be Disney. I've been going to Disney now for 50 years, it is embedded. My 20 something kids grew up Disney and it isn't likely to leave either of them. They have been in the parks since they were mere babies.

Thanks! :) We've always tried to do as much as we can together as a family. We all have so many good memories from all the times we've shared together over the years, and continue to share!
But, believe me, it'll be no "race"...! ;) We'll all do what we can do...I still wanna' be around to see my grandkiddos...! :D ;) :)

I exercise, I walk 5 miles a day, I try to ride my bike, weather permitting. I'm not a runner. So not a runner, don't get that any more than I understand the game of golf, as artfully stated, golf, a good walk spoiled.

My Dad ran the Boston Marathon for the first time at 65. He has had a hip replaced and needs 2 knee replacements. The Doc's warned him, but he knew better........

I'll stick to not pounding my joints away, lesson learned.

Hunchback I watched not that long ago, so I recognized it. Hercules father I suspected and confirmed because fathers from the same movie were next to one another, and the one Mox featured for Mother's Day had his adoptive mother.

Welcome to Chit Chat thread. Glad I'm not the only crazy cat person around here. :cat:
